This is how I see it
13 and under- depressingly early
14-15: Early but not unusual
16-18: Very Normal
19-21: A little late, but not unusual
22-24: Very late
25 and over: You're probably waiting for marriage, or not very good looking

Haha in America it seems like todays teenagers aren't losing it until they're 18 or waiting for marriage. They are losing it around the ages of 13-15. By the time most females are 17-19 they already have a 2 year old child. What is the world coming too?!?

I think you'll find that the statement "By the time most females are 17-19 they already have a 2 year old child." is objectively false. In no way do most women have children by that age.

Umm actually at my previous high school I now see girls getting pregnant by that age. The youngest I've seen was by age 15. I know "most" of them is incorrect but some of them do

I wasn't trying to say that nobody ever does. Of course some people do. But when you said "most females" had 2 year old children by age 17-19, it came out as kind of crazy and unrealistic.

"Saving it for marriage" is a bit of an incorrect option.


1) Someone could pick one of the age ranges from the list, and still qualify as having saved it for marriage.

2) Someone could still be a virgin and therefore not qualify for the age ranges... but they might not be planning on waiting for marriage.



So technically "still a virgin" would be more appropriate. And if you really want to get accurate, age ranges for virgins too.

Wikipedia says that the average age for the first time having sex in the US is 17.0 for guys and 17.3 for girls. My guess would have been around that age, but just looking it up confirms it :P

I wish it was 18-19, but when I was in high school, it seemed like everyone was losing it freshmen/softmore year. If I had a dime for everyone who was pregnant or trying get pregnant back in high school, I'd be one rich son of a bitch!

I dont live in America, but I'm 22 years old and still a virgin. I'm not saving my self for marriage, but I'm not opposed it. And no, I'm not religious. I thought a lot of having sex at 15-16(peer presure) but there was no one that I knew who I wanted to have sex with. Later on I stopped thinking about it, instead it felt special that I had something most people my age had given away. Most people dont believe me when I tell them that I'm a vigin, not just because of my age, but because I'm not unattractive (I have done some modeling) and I do flirt with man. I rather say: I became sexually active in my 20s when I knew myself and what I wanted than to say: I wasen't even legal and I did it because everyone else was doing it.

Is that normal, or is it normal, depends on many things:
Where you live. ie Its normal to rub noses for eskimos
Your beliefs. ie Its NOT normal to go to church for MOST of the world
Your age ie 10 (in this story) would be shocking, unless you lived in the Middle east!
The era you live in. ie We normally feel slavery is wrong now, but once it was normal to have slaves!
Your gender ie Males generally would not say its normal to put makeup on!

There are a few more, but generally 'normal' is not normal for everyone. As this site proves.

I'm not American, but I'd guess around 17. Plenty of people lose it after that, plenty of people lose it before that, but I'd assume that was the average.

Oh and I laughed at the 4 people saying 12-14. You've been watching too much Maury :P

where i live a lot of 12 year olds are loosing their virginity but i don't plan to till i am at least 18 and if you are going to loose your virginity at an age based on this survey you should wait until you think you are ready

Im a New Zealand teenager, so my answer isnt valid either, but I woulld say girls here lose it around 16. But our statistics arent based on 'Who's losing their virginities' its more 'Holy crap 17-18 year olds are having kids all over the place!' 5 of the girls from my school have had kids already. 80

Its 14 - 18 . From my expierence so anyone past the age of 16 they do not believe when you tell them you have not had sex with . 18 year old virgin is considered a physical impossibility Thats not a joke either . Children are losing it earlier and earliear .
