Just call me black.

I don't understand why people get all bent out of shape and say:

''No...you're an African American!''

...or...

''I'm not calling you that! That sounds racist!''

Seriously? Its not a big deal...I'm black...You're white...

I dont describe people by their color unless its absolutely necessary - I've never had difficulty doing it this way.

Black.He has got black skin.You definitely require a lot of intelligence to get to that conclusion.

What's really there is a certain number of genetic variations which blend worse or better
according to many other factors I don't even wanna talk about or the comment would become a damn essay.
Genetic variations that took place during hundreds of years of sexual evolution,in other words breeding and a certain degree of enviromental adaptation.We are just to damn stupid to see all of those variations on the human theme,so we'd rather set a number of variables we are more able to take into consideration.It's like having on a dish thirty different apples varieties,strains,and just say:They are apples.There's the green one,the red one and the yellow one.It's clearly a gross oversimplification.People aren't apples.
Oversimplification we need cause we are out of touch with our own ancestry.Our own heritage.
Our genetic history.So we'd rather go: I'm white.I'm caucasian,I'm black,I'm african american and so forth.But those are just old obsolete typologies,set by some racist dumbasshole no one knows for sure how many years ago.You'd say:We can't possibly come up with a thousand different words to define every redundant genetic combination that might show up. That is all.If you people had any knowledge about genetics you'd just say:Carrier of this or that genes,or nucleotides strands.But since you are dumb as a sheep,
you keep using these words and pretend like you have no other choice,or like you don't use them.

It was a small minority of blacks that wanted to be politically known as "african-americans" so they are black imo. Go down your family tree if you don't have a family member that was native to africa in 4 generations then your just black. You don't hear me calling myself a european american do you? no. I rest my case.

i think calling a negroid black is wrong, and racist. The skin is not black, it is more brown. African american is wrong too, not all of the ancestors came from africa

Without exception, every single black friend of mine says black, so I go along with that.

When I was younger, I said "that guy is dark brown" or "that guy is a really light tan" because that's what I saw. Now I use black, white, and all that because people actually get the message. No one seems to mind.

It's still such a sensitive issue and hard to please everyone, unfortunately. Generally, I don't make mention of people's skin colour unless it's relevant in some way. Then I use black and white which both strike me as very inaccurate descriptions, but I know they're generally accepted conventions. I've noticed that some older people still seem to think that "coloured" is a politer term than black. This term seems completely ridiculous to me, though, considering that all humans have their origins in Africa. It would be more accurate to refer to white people as "discoloured" or "bleached" or something.

I'm black and white. I prefer the term black to identify my black side with. Although I prefer the termed "mixed" or "mulatto" above both black and white. I find that less people get offended if you call them black rather than African American. Not everyone who is dark skinned is from or even lives in America. You never know what their situation is. They could easily be Jamaican born and raised visiting their family members.

Honestly, I am a African American female. And I say African American because it doesn't make a difference to me. You are who you are. And saying black to me doesn't sound right. I grew up in towns filled with whites. So it comes natural to me. Lol.

I say black because it takes too long to say "African-American". Plus, it's not like we call white people "Caucasians", right?

It's just a colour. I'm white and I call people black. What are they, white too? Everyone has different opinions to be called by different names. African-American is scientific, Black is normal, N1gg4 is partly racist but black people sometimes use it to each other and Negro is history.

I say either, depending on the circumstance.

Why do you have to call people by skin anyway? Dang my name is Nino so just call me Nino. Or him, not that black/white person wtf?
