Do humans have an inflated view of themselves

Despite having higher brain functions, do you honestly think there's a difference between a human and any other animal/plant on the planet?

We are who we believe we are. We can believe we are crap and sink back into to primordial soup, or we can believe we are God's gift to the universe and strive to rule it.

Interesting question but...it would be awesome if you took a bit more time planning out your polls. The question doesn't seem to match the description well and the poll options seem even more off.
If your the same OP that does a few of those other posts like this one--they're intriguing but annoying.

Oh yea...and I do think that humans have an inflated view of themselves. Everything we've done throughout history is a result of this ego.

lol this doesn't make sense so I'm not answering.

there is no intellegent answer provided to this poll, so ill just go ahead and say, of cours humans feel like we are the center of the universe, but in the scheme of all things we are small and unimportant.

Depends upon whom you're talking about, because some do. It is when we compare ourselves to something else in nature which also sustains a useful purpose, that we see ourselves for what we are in this Universe. For instance: How do you compare yourself to the purpose a tree serves humanity and the world; or the course of a stream or river compared to what we do in out lives. Consider that the animals of the forest neither toil nor grow their own food, but Mother Earth sustains their needs throughout their lifetimes, as She sustains our needs, as well. I am no one without the Mother who sustains us all.

we are the only species that destroy our habitat and kill our own kind

We are more advanced than anything we know of, so yes, we are better than other animals. But we're not "divine" or "special", we're just clever apes is all.

we are little animals spinnin around on a warm rock in space thinkin we know everything
Comment Hidden (show)
i don't know us as human but i am better them most of us. (not saying much tho)

We are all animals...The fact that we can't stop killing each other for our own selfish needs is evidence enough...Only difference is every other animal here has a purpose, but what is ours? It seems to be to aid in destruction of this planet and its ecosystem on a massive scale for money and power...

I wanted to say no, but I'm atheist. Anyway, humans are definately different from animals. We fight like animals, and share many common emotions with them such as fear, jealousy, happiness, and the need to protect your home. However, humans are the only creatures on earth that think they have to reproduce year round. We are the only creatures on earth that have developed cultures, religions and philosophies, complex tools, and art, writing, and language.
