No, I am not a misanthropist. I can often be a judgmental prick but to explain it as well as I can, I am a Criminal Justice major with a fascination with the concept of justice and a very prevalent "Victim Sympathy" within my mentality, so I am bound to judge anyone who is, purposely or not, creating a victim (whether it be mild or severe) more harshly, even if the victim is only what I perceive to be a victim (like children that are born to idiotic parents, they may not be being victimized but I still see them as victims of another person's poor judgement) by virtue of their own character flaws. I do truly believe that people need to think of who they are hurting when they make stupid decisions.
Other than my negative mentality towards the above, I'm generally pretty friendly and I try to get along with everybody and play nice.
I have a hard time dealing with people who have the "I am more intelligent than you" mentality. In my opinion, talking down to somebody and proclaiming your superiority to prove the point of your intelligence actually makes you look less intelligent. If you're intelligent, it need not be directly expressed. Or people who think that they can treat others however they want, are extremely negative/depressive/pessimistic, people who are irresponsible, whiny, make excuses or just don't seem very mature for their age... I tend not to associate them, it's difficult for me to cope with those character flaws in others. It can be argued that I have them all within myself, and I may agree with a good enough argument, but I'm pretty easy to get along with and I like to be around people that make me want to act like I am a respectable and decent member of society.
TL;DR I love people, but some of them disappoint me and I like to keep from feeling down about humanity. I can't afford the prozac and I don't drink liquor.
