My rule of thumb is the size should be about the same as the inch number. So 5'4" person should be about a size 4. 5'5" size 5, 5'6" size 6....
So if this person wears a size 8 they should be 5'8" tall.
Gene or no gene if you are 5'4" you will not be attractive to me if you are a size 8.
fyi, there is one key word in my sentence above that makes my statement valid.
"me"
A UK size 8 is equivalent to a US size 4.
So I'm 5"4 and a UK 8, which is fairly slender. In the US if I was an 8 it would be fat and the equivalent of a UK size 12.
