Do you think people can sense when they're about to die?

I know that cats and maybe other animals can do that, for themselves and for people (there was a cat in a nursing home who would lie on one's bed and they would die shortly after that, every time... and no, the cat didn't kill them) As for elderly acting delusional... I think it's because they don't know or can't believe/understand they're going to die, even when other people are not as hopeful, or they are trying to hide the fact.

Some people can. And also can sense when something bad is going to happen.

The last time I thought I was going to die, it actually happened. I'm typing from THE OTHER SIDE now.

It's not a sense as such. It's analyzing really fast and making an educated guess.

I say "yes", regardless of the story I know that many monks know when they're about to expire, not to mention all the zen patriarchs up to date. So I guess it demands a certain state of mind that most of us don't possess, but it doesn't mean it's impossible.

In short period before death, people certainly know. Months ahead of time? No.

I think so. Most cases I've heard when people die, they tend to get some kind of hunch or obsession. I guess it's kind of a feeling. I don't know. It's a little creepy, though.

Yah I think so I think they start reliezing when their body is begiing to quit on them .

Yup. My Dad battled ALS for 4 years. He had been on an emotional rollercoaster. He was angry, sad, frustrated mostly caused by claustrophobia because he was losing strength in his arms and couldn't adjust himself. The pain in his legs were unbearable somedays, but he couldn't move them anymore to stop the pain. It was getting really bad then all of a sudden, a couple days before he died he seemed at peace and happy. He made tons of phone calls and had a lot of people visit him. He was a cool guy and everyone liked to visit him anyway, we didn't think anything of it. He showed me a file of things he wanted for his funeral and people he wanted to speak at his service. He wrote his own obituary, it was beautiful! He said don't tell Mom until the night I'm gone. Then he smiled. Out of all my siblings, I'm the only one he told. I felt special! One night, he was able to sit up and eat, he looked really good! He had color back in his face and his eyes were shiney. He called my entire family and some uncles and aunts and requested a blessing of release. It was the most touching beautiful thing I've ever witnessed. After the blessing, we all gave him a hug one at a time and he whispered to me, "I love you. I'm ready. I'm ready to go." We put him to bed and sat around for a few hours. We'd take turns going into his room to check on him. He was in deep thought and looked really peaceful. He looked no where near ready to die. He just looked like someone sleeping. Then he started looking different and all my siblings and my Mom gathered around and watched him go. He knew he was ready and looked super peaceful and happy the entire week down to the last moment. He had a small smile on his face. :) Most amazing week of my life!!!!
