It depends on the man and the facial hair. You've got a wide spectrum between a full castaway beard and Hitler's mustache.
Hard to answer generically. I prefer a clean shaven face or a full trimmed beard. Not a fan of goatees very much. It seems they are missing a pair of undies on them.
