Also set and setting, who you're with, every little detail about the space around you. Psychedellics can bring out repressed memories, old traumas, all sorts of interesting things that swim around in your subconscious mind.

They definitely aren't something you do to get "fucked up", because they can fuck your brain halfway to last tuesday if you're not careful.

the key to using pyschedelics is to be responsible. and the quaility of the the substance

I have eaten a lot of shrooms, having both good trips and bad trips. I have seen some really cool shit and some scary as hell shit! As far as changing my life, I don't think I have ever had a trip so monumental that it affected my life after I sobered up!

What type of bad trips did you have?
Was it hallucinations of some of your worst fears and the like? I'm really interested in this...

I am rather claustrophobic, and the worst trip I had was very much about that. I was laying on my couch, and another kid started to get scared which threw my mood all to hell, and it began.

What was normally my living room and my kitchen started shrinking around me, to the point where my apartment was just a tiny little box, just big enough to fit me! If I blinked my eyes every thing would return to normal, and start the slow process of shrinking back down again. This threw me into panic, hyperventilation, super fast heart beat, and cold sweat!

It lasted a total of about two hours after the trip turned bad, and then all of the sudden it was like flipping a light switch and BAM, sober and normal! Enough so that I returned to the party and drank the night away! The experience was bad enough to turn me off of shrooms for some time now!

That sounds terrifying actually! Drowning would be a shitty ass trip!

Mean friends are the WORST thing to have around when tripping, they will get you freaking out every time!

Wow, I must say I believe you have probably influenced me to keep out of the causeway of that happening. I know I would have some freaky **** going on if I had a bad trip from what it sounds like. End up running out on the highway in the middle of the night and ish. Highway semi-splatter target written all over me...

1) only other high people in the room
2) cellphones OFF
3) only people you trust
4) make sure you have a snot rag
5) do not answer or unlock the door for any reason
6) no "trippy" or stressful movies or music, soothing influences
7) nobody that has recently been dumped, fired, lost a loved one, been in a bad accident, or any other traumatizing event.

Now you are bad trip proof, have fun!

Lol thanks kegman...

Entirely sure though I'm subconsciously ****ing myself over right now by having the thought in the back of my head of a bad trip.

I'm sure someone is going to have their head turn all the way around and throw up green slime all over me as I watch dumbstruck as the exorcist movie comes to life right in front of me. LMAO

This is gonna be bad lol......Though I shall take the advice into accordance my good man. Cheers

Ay mate btw the exorcist doesn't scare me. The priest does LOL........

I have never tried psychedelics, too scared of a bad trip. I don't interact with most drugs legal or illegal very well. I am the king of side effects.

I've never really taken drugs but I've had hallucinations from extreme insomnia. I've seen some beautiful things, and some serious scary things. It hasn't influenced my life in any way, though. Apart from the knowledge that what my brain thinks an angel looks like is pretty good.

Yes, several aspects have influenced me for the greater good of my well-being.

For those of you who have never done psychedellics... it's nothing like what you imagine.

I've done acid maybe 6, 7 times total. Shrooms maybe 4 times. Robotripped a few times. Smoked DMT for the first time last time I did acid. (THAT was an insightful journey)

The nice thing about psychedellics is they allow you to explore your own consciousness in a different way, help you to think differently and in general feel more connected. Then again it's difficult to describe what they really do for you because it's all very individualized, I know many people who are affected differently than I am.

As for bad trips and the like? Either caused by a bad set or setting, inexperience with psychedellics, or psychological issues, trauma or repression brought out by the psychedellic.

How was the DMT experience? I've heard that the experiences people have really do resonate with different cords of being. Really controversial...

It was pretty intense. I sort of waved in and out of totally gone and kind of aware, most of us were on acid at the time so people were being really chatty.

When I was out, there were these intense fractals, turning into shapes folding into passageways turning into human figures within the larger fractal, too complicated to really even describe and constantly changing.

The body high was intense, wavery and thrummy and... the best way I can describe it is I didn't feel the space between me and anything else anymore. Yeah there was air there, but it wasn't just air, it was something else and it connected all of us.

Eyes open, everything was outlined in rainbows, peoples faces looked different. Couldn't stop laughing and I was probably gone for 15 minutes, still feeling the trippy aftereffects for 15 after that.. I was shocked how long it lasted

Not really, they don't do to much to me. Im one of those people who stays quite aware of reality during trips, i had breakfast on lsd with my parents once and they didn't even notice. I've met others who do it too, their brain just overrides the trip and goes "this aint real, relax" i am always calm under psychedelics, and remarkably coherent. The very few times i've had mescaline were odd though.

I then relax my nostrils

I have done LSD fairly regularly and never had a bad trip. I just had so much fun and appreciated the beauty in everything. It was so exciting to see the world differently.
It has influenced me because I have no means to get tabs now and life seems mediocre at times. Not always, but sometimes I crave an acid trip so badly!

I saw my predicament from a diffrent point I never have it surely influenced a part of my life but it wasn't completly life changing. My trip was on acid I thot I was homeless and poor for most of the trip and encouraged me to finish highschool when I dropped out.

I've done lots of LSD and shrooms. I cant say they influenced my life in a radical way. I would say I have never had a bad trip...its all about having the right buddy for your trip. Many of my favorite, most magical, colorful, and romantic memories were made in psychadelics.

For quite a while my life revolved around doing preposterous amounts of acid to see if I could make my mind snap, and I did some freaky shit to try and find the limits but there weren't any and the main thing I learned is that parks are great and people don't use them as much as they should
