Have you ever taken LSD (acid) ? if not, why wouldn't you? if so, how did it affect you ? how memorable was it? did it cause you any long term damage?

whoa
It was one of the most amazing (high) experiences I have been through. Everything is so much more beautiful and I felt like nothing could bring me down.
Did it again with my boyfriend a couple of months ago. Never. Again. It was too much for me to handle and I had THE worst night of my life. I thought I was going to die, I thought my boyfriend was going to die. Ugh. The thing is you create your own experience. If something happens that upsets you, you're SCREWED and in for a long, bad trip.
I'll just stick with my weed now. I'm too old for acid now.
It changed my life forever - for the better. Doors of perception, dude. Next time was mild in comparison, but still awesome. Can't wait to go again.
I did point out that although I had a bad trip, I managed to enjoy it (once it finally ended!) as if I'd just seen a scary film. And the next time, over a year later, I had a regular dose and a wonderful, inspiring, beautiful trip with no bad parts, just exciting ones.
So yes, I'll certainly try it again next chance I get. My advice to others is to treat it with the respect it deserves, and accept that there's a tiny chance you'll go INSANE! But probably won't.
Exactly like Halkarin said, RESPECT IT. With a good mindset and proper setting you're almost guaranteed to have a positively life-changing experience, but if you're in a bad location with negative people and/or are not mentally prepared then you can be in for one hell of a journey.
My advice to everyone; one word - MUSIC! Stuff from the 60s/70s is particularly 'special' ;)
I figure I'm weird enough sober.
More X. Tried shrooms, similar effect, but safer. Do DMT. It will change your view of life completeltly, positively or negetivly. Reserch it. Its on nearly every living thing in small amounts, its thought to cause dreams and near death experiences (dark tunnel, bright light, lesson). It stupidly illegal, the president and the pope and you and i use it every night.
1.) Don't freak yourself out before taking it.
2.) Don't allow yourself to think about anything unpleasant.
3.) Don't take it if you're under stress.
4.) Take it with someone you trust deeply who is experienced with it.
5.) Again, don't be afraid, but NEVER UNDERESTIMATE ACID'S ABILITY TO FUCK YOUR HEAD UP. Some of what you see will actually be real (like fractals!) Some of it will not. The fact that some of these things are really there makes it very hard to tell what's just the drug taking hold and what's the result of an open mind.
6.) Most importantly- and this goes with #5- don't feel like you have to take a lot. I've never taken more than 2 1/2 doses and that was way plenty. It takes time to hit the peak. Take too much and you'll wind up like this homeless guy in downtown Louisville who honestly thinks he's a glass of orange juice that will break if tipped over.
7.) Don't take it in public unless you're experienced.
just to a warning to anybody thinking of trying it, DO NOT do it if you have even mild depression or anxiety...it can fuck you up. the reality it opens you up to is an extremly raw experience that is not pleasent for the sensitive.
i also know lots of people who have anxiety disorders and hppd because of lsd and you can even get ptsd from a bad trip like i did :S some of these consequences last for years or even for the rest of your life. so be careful!
i would say if youre like me, a young person who has a somewhat boring life, no job, that doesnt go out much with large groups of people and you want to experiment alone definatly do not do it...you wont be prepared! think about how much 'life experience' you have, if you are full of life and happy and have lots of raw experience doing things and meeting people then you will be more comfortable with the lsd experience
For anyone truly curious about trying it or just want to know more about it, this is perhaps the best resource for information regarding it (and all drugs)
