I agree with most of what you've said although the Chinese tried limiting the off-spring to one and it has led to loads of problems when the parents preferred male children. Maybe they should have no kids and the Third World should all be supplied contraceptives.

I was also thinking about the judge who was dealing with my sister's divorce. It was his last case, they retire at 75yo and the senile old beggar had to be wakened by the lawyers coughing every so often, coz he'd dozed off while she was speaking! This dottery old git wouldn't set a time limit on his ruling coz he was convinced her ex-husband would obey HIS ruling. Arrogant beyond belief!! And very wrong!! He should've been forced out years before.

I don't know about your country but in the UK the best paid admin jobs are those working for charities!!

Personally, I am sick to death of the snobs who frequent golf clubs. The women are old before their time and the men all try to outdo each other trying to work out how wealthy they each are. One even asked me (a female) if I was a millionaire. This was obviously to see whether I was worth impressing. I asked if he was, when he said, "Oh yes." I said, "Great, get to the bar, it's your round!"

The Chinese One-Child policy is still in effect, and will be for some time yet. Yes, the gender preference issue is somewhat of a problem, but is being resolved. The policy has been relaxed somewhat in some situations, and now applies to 35.9 percent of the population. It has, nevertheless been a success in raising prosperity and life-expectancy. Note that even though the policy has been in effect since 1978, the population of China is still increasing.
I do not support an imposed policy, such as this. Instead I favour a voluntary reward type One-Child policy. I feel that we should act swiftly to change any existing laws that promote or reward people who decide to have large families.

I absolutely agree though it wasn't something I've thought about. I like the idea of rewarding those who limit their number of children - personally, I only have one, and think that's enough work for anyone!

Our benefit system is being 'milked' by those who have lots of children.

Great post, you've given me food for thought.
