Cry all you want! If you dont let it out its going to mess you up worse than feeling wierd about crying in the first place. If you are trying to go ahead with your life and have a healthy mind you are going to eventualy be messed up by what your bottling up when it finaly does come out and that could be messy. In other words these are your feelings and you have to feel them and deal with them accordingly and if that means crying do it.

It is totally normal but it is important to know that there comes a time when just have to move forward and move on. Don't let the pain from your past hold you back. Wow, that was a lot of cliched crap... unfortunately it's all true though.

well let me tell you something,am a girl and i had a past i mean i knew lots of guys some of them have broken my heart and i broke other's hearts..as i have done some terrible mistakes and all of that turned my life into hell..i was spending the last six monthes crying and depressed i saw a doctor but it didn't help too much because i kept blaming my self about all that happened in the past..but let me tell you something baby we're all humans and we all make mistakes and learn from it and it's normal to feel upset about it but don't let the past hold you back you're missing the good stuf and life will go on and sooner or later you will forget and move on...

I'm sure it is fine, but remember, nostalgia and dwelling on the past are different things.

Sure, i'd say that is very normal. I may not cry, but do dwell on the past occasionally myself. It's not normal to do it all the time and stress over what is behind you. The past is over, not going to change, so don't stress it. Focus on the Present, because that is where you are at and can do things. Don't dwell TOO much on the future, either. In rehab they call that future trippin', and it will mess with you too. Not that it is bad to be mindful of what lies ahead.

What happened, has happened and cannot be changed, so why cry over something completely insignificant to your 'NOW'? Do you enjoy living in a moments from the past, then never let go and enjoy the misery...Like, whatever makes you happy ;)

As long as there's something resonable to cry about. But it should be personaly. Somewhere quiet and when you're alone. I've done that before, but it might have just been PMS, haha.

I cry MAYBE a few times per year, and it's usually if I'm over-tired and frustrated, or someone close to me passed away, but never because of my past. (I am female too.)

the only reason why you would cry, is usually because something is bugging you inside and you want to let it out. the last time i cried (last year) was a friends situation, or should i say "enemies".

I cry once and a while because of my past not because i was dumped but because i've never had anyone been alone ever since i was little.

You shouldnt cry.Its past and you cant change it just try to forget about it and start a new life

i guess it's okay to cry about the past but it will not change anything. tears most often do not change the course of action your life is taking. i personally see tears as a waste of time and generally do not indulge in crying. after my divorce, which i asked for, i cried once and only once; i cried for the way things had been before he became abusive. no other reason. have your cry if it makes you feel better but don't linger on whatever is bothering you.

Yup. I do it, but thank god my life is so much better now!

I cry because I miss my friend and dad and when everyone treats me badly or my mum and step dad fights again

That is probably the most normal thing to do other than breathe or take a piss.
