Say you are walking across the intersection and you suddenly see a car that is about to hit you. Just before the car hits you, time stops. Nothing is moving but you are still conscious in your frozen state. You then hear a voice in your head, "You have two choices. The first choice is that you get killed by this car. The second choice is that you get to survive the impact but you will be living miserably for the rest of your life. Nothing you do will ever relieve you from your miseries."
Which option would you choose in this situation and why?
Which option would you choose in this situation and why?

Having an intact survival instinct, I'd probably try to find some kind of loophole to allow myself to keep on going, like dedicating my life completely to good causes from thereon in.
I think the power might go out, though. D:< If it does I can then burn my oil lamp! ^_^
I would live. There is a reason I'm alive. if I live there would still be a reason to be alive.
While that voice may say that i will never be better again, actually human nature doesn't work like that.
We take between half a year and 1.5 years to adapt to even most extreme changes of circumstances.
Such as ending up in a wheelchair.
I am talking about adaption in a mental-state way. Obviously if you are suddenly blind you are not able to do things as well as someone blind from birth after a year.
But you can feel happyness again, you are in a mental balance, and no longer pulled down by your "fate". You adapted to the situation and make the best of it.
If the voice turns out to be messing with me and through supernatural means preventing me from making this change, or hitting me with new "problems" regulary to make sure i'm in a perpetual state of misery, i am unsure if i would react with fighting spirit(as in, you won't get me, you crap voice) or with ending it all while still somehow capable to.
And anyone who says they would be able to is probably bullshitting us and themselves as well.
