My definition of a slut

If a guy or girl is fucking someone different every weekend I'd say they are a slut.

If they aren't hurting you, then don't judge.

The only time I'll call someone a slut is if she's a bitch.

People tend to only call a girl a slut when they don't like her. For example, if a girl cheats on her boyfriend everyone will call her a slut. If you call a girl a slut for just doing what she wants to do that's retarded.

So I suppose my definition of slut would be a girl who is in a relationship and sleeps with one or more other guys for the simple reason (No relationship problems) that she is just an inconsiderate bitch.

I don't agree with anything else you've said. The word, to me, is used out of anger or malice.

Meh, I think the single girl who sleeps around is less of a slut than the woman who cheats on people in serious relationships.

I 100% agree with you. It is unfair that if a woman sleeps with a few men, her reputation will be ruined for life she she will always be called a slag. If a man sleeps around, he is high fived and praised. Why?!
If a woman has fun sleeping with a few men, and she isn't harming anyone then leave her alone. If she regrets it later in life then leave her to it. It's no one elses business.

I agree pretty much completely with OP's definition of slut, although I would like to add the girl at the truck stop that offered me a "boob show and a blowjob" for 60 bucks to that list. Jesus, truck stop hookers, who saw that coming!

Tommythecat said it all. Feminists are trying to change definitions and views to fit their wants. If a woman sleeps around, she's a slut by definition. Does that mean that the word slut is something to be ashamed of? Depends on your opinion, but that doesn't change the definition.

A girl who sleeps around is always a slut. That's what the word did and always will mean.

OP's just truing to write a new definition to feel better about herself being a slut.

I think it is less about the term itself (which, by definition, does mean that a woman who sleeps with multiple men in a short interval IS a slut, the above posters ARE correct) and more about how the user of the term FEELS about the concept of sexual promiscuity. To many people, being a "slut" or an erotic woman of sorts IS an acceptable lifestyle. The term slut becomes negative when the person using it is using in in a manner in which they are indicating that living that lifestyle is a bad thing and is a poor character trait for a woman to have, or otherwise degrades the woman's character.

So define slut however you want it, but if you are using it as an insult, it is going to be insulting no matter what. And the second example you are describing sounds like a woman who is insecure and has self-esteem problems, but could also be called a slut as well.

Either way, the problem that you are attempting to identify is not a problem of the word itself, rather than a problem of people being simple-minded enough to think that the possession of ONE "negative" character trait (such as sexual promiscuity) is enough to degrade the entirety of a woman's character and having that character trait is good enough reason alone to look down upon that woman and associate her with the aforementioned crazy slut, when the reality is for many women, their lifestyle is not nearly so dirty and crazy. They are just doing what humans enjoy doing, getting laid.

why would you say "a girl who performs sexual acts she isn't comfortable with in order to satisfy someone other than herself" is a slut ?

ANYONE who sleeps around is a slut. If anyone has a different sexual partner every weekend, I'm sorry, but that person is considered a slut.

It's just even worse if they don't use protection and sleep with random people as a form of insecurity.

The word "slut" is a definition of what the native Americans call "Bear With WIDE Canyon", the term itself is a description of a person, derogatory or not, depends if you consider the action to be derogatory. If its the term specifically that you don't like, many other terms can be applied to describe such behavior: free spirited, woman who love too much, one who can't say no, easy going, fast, etc... Does any of those terms sound better? if no, what term would you use to describe a woman who have more sexual partners then cups of coffee?

I didn't vote, and here's my definition: A slut is a person of either sex that has sex not for sex but for revenge against someone, usually against a man to hurt his ego to make him feel worthless, i.e. anyone could (and usually does) get her but that poor guy. Or a guy doing it to make his gf feel jealous/insecure.

If you are in the Porn business by my definition you get a pass, as it is just business.

Anyone else should be able to have sex as as often as they like with as many different people as they see fit to have it with, and that in and of itself has no bearing on "sluthood"
