Of the following gift cards, which would you prefer?

Just as the poll states, of the following gift cards, which would you prefer to receive if you were to receive one as a gift (in an increment between $25-$100)?

I know a lot of people feel that gift cards are not very good gifts, but truly it would be nice to receive a gift card for a place that you enjoy shopping from? If only the giver would just ask where you like to shop, right? XD

That was funny! To answer you, though, I don't like gift cards at all. They're like converting money into money that is now restricted. How can it be anything other than a negative thing?

If anyone is wondering about what to buy me for my birthday tomorrow (shhh, DannyKanes), the gift of alcohol always goes down well.

Why, thank you. I'll have a rum and coke, thanks. Oh, a double, you say? Well, okay, if you insist. No, that's okay, just leave the bottle...

Ahh, and now I have to confess. There was a post on here that led into a conversation with DannyKanes and we reckoned people's memories were so bad, we could say it's our birthday every few months or so and nobody would catch on.

It was actually my birthday last month and I wondered if long enough had gone by to pull this off. :D

Well I never knew when your birthday was to begin with, but good one! Happy late birthday then :P

I'd like amazon gc
Comment Hidden (show)
I'd prefer just money. Gift cards are really restrictive. Either that or an Amazon gift card or something.

Prepaid Phone Minutes Card?

They still make those?
Comment Hidden (show)

Yeah, and cards that are preloaded to add money to your phone account. I have a prepaid plan and I just make my payments automatically online with my credit card but if someone wanted to give me the gift of a month of cell service ($35 phone card) then they could go to most major stores and buy me a phone card.

I'd go with book store. I can always find something there.

Even though I rarely drink coffee, I'd go with the Starbucks one.

You just want to pick up the cute young lady sitting in the corner reading a novel.

Indeed I do.

Book store I chose, but I'd prefer an Amazon gift card. I just received an Amazon, iTunes, and Gamestop gift card for my birthday. :)

How did you know I liked rope and duct tape?

Actually, I make an exception for Amazon. I don't like gift cards at all but when I was given Amazon ones, I was thrilled. I love Amazon.

Eek! Muchos sorrios. I... didn't know what I was doing. DannyKanes made me do it. I'm really very weak-willed and I do anything that people say. Yes. *nods*

Amazon has never let me down.

@: Rin✿
Nor me. When the post office was struggling with Christmas deliveries, a manager from Amazon drove round in his own car to give me the presents I'd ordered before Christmas. And it was a Sunday!

o.o Do you think Amazon is Santa's workshop? and and that man was really Santa?!

@: Rin✿
Well, maybe. But he didn't look like Santa. He was balding, in a grey business suit and he drove a BMW.

Maybe he was an elf. :)

I can't decide between a book store an Walmart, because that is the next best thing from cold hard cash, you can get anything at Walmart! But there are about a billion different books in any given book store that I would LOVE to have!
Comment Hidden (show)
A gift card to a bookstore so I can buy more manga and comic books.
Comment Hidden (show)
Clothes... iTunes cards are totally useless to me, and bookstore cards I use to buy other people's gifts xd
Comment Hidden (show)
I hate gift cards and vouchers, I've probably had $1000 expire without using them over the years. They cause me a lot of stress having to try to find some thing that I need before they run out. I'd prefer no present or cash. I had $150 at a snazzy clothing store yet I had no money to buy food or pay my rent. While I was grateful for the gift I couldn't help feeling a bit pissed off.
Comment Hidden (show)
My local grocer has gift cards. Give me one of those and I'll throw a party. :)
Comment Hidden (show)
I'd rather receive no gift then recieve a giftcard.
Comment Hidden (show)
iTunes or a book store one. I've never had much luck with "electronic" oriented ones. The only one I've received for a "clothing store" was on my birthday. It was for target and the selection was so bad that I bought hello kitty socks and gel pens:P

I want the massage/spa gift card. I've never been to the spa so maybe its time I checked it out.
Comment Hidden (show)
Cash is king. You can even wrap it up in a pretty stationary card, but the card just goes in the trash anyway.
Comment Hidden (show)
I chose moderate clothing store because I could use the clothes more... but I always have trouble deciding how much to spend on one piece of clothing...
It's easier for me to buy an album or two on iTunes...
Comment Hidden (show)
I'd go with either Starbucks, iTunes or a bookstore gift card, thank you.
Comment Hidden (show)
it depends on the person giving the card. if the person knew me well, i'd want a gift card from one of my favorite stores. if the person did not know me well, or if it was an older relative, amazon would be good (they have everything) or itunes would be ok.

if it was someone that was supposed to be a close friend, and i expected them to know me well, i'd be a little put off by a gift card that was not specific to my tastes (an amazon card would probably NOT be appropriate for a significant other or best friend unless the recipient does most of their shopping on amazon).

and gift cards CAN be quite a thoughtful gift... especially if it's to a specialty store or boutique that the person likes or would like.

Just buy a visa giftcard, they can use it anywhere.

Book store. I'm a bookworm and it's the kind of place that you can always find something you like.
Comment Hidden (show)
If your giving money just give money not a gift card. Once you give the money away you can no longer spend it you just did! What the other person buys does not affect you so why should you care what they spend it on.
