Haha, I do this all the time. I don't even notice it, and I have to make an effort to make sure I don't to do this in someone elses house.

Oh my. I've gone buck wild on people for doing that. It drives me nuts! Have you no muscles to gently ease yourself down?!?!

I'd never do it in public but my sofa is like some kind of futon. I have strong leg muscles but I challenge anyone to effect a soft touch-down on this thing. As for my bed, sometimes I quite deliberately think, "I cannot be arsed with standing up any more" and I just drop on the thing like a man who has been shot.

I agree with you. I can count with one hand the times I've done this. If you ever did that in front of my mother, or anything that shows signs of no manners and laziness, ahh man. But it is rude and impolite.

i wont do it at anyone elses house, but if i've had a long day and no one else is at home i will just drop.

Sometimes my husby just collapses into furniture. But he's built like an elk with no grace and can't help it. I find it adorable.

The grunting that accompanies this maneuver is what irritates me the most. The plopping itself isn't so bad.

I thought you meant the toilet seat from your title. I'm not even sure I've seen anyone slam themselves into a seat. I've seen someone plop themselves into a seat though, does that count?

I don't care at all except if I'm sitting on a bench or in the train for exemple and the person do that beside me!! Especially when the person is heavy

I only hate it when I can feel the vibration.
