This is insane. Ludicrous. Inexplicable and nonsensical.

Ready??

Because back in 1857, the Illuminati staged a scheme to get people to buy twice as much bread as they needed. Ever wonder why hotdog buns only come in multiples of four? Because the Illuminati believe that anyone with an IQ over 109 should have four kids.

The Illuminati AND the reptillian shape-shifters!

Every grocery store with a checkered floor is Illuminati owned and controlled.

…I wish I were making up the checkered floor thing, but there are actually people who claim that if a building has a black and white checkered floor, that means it's connected to the Freemasons, and therefore the Illuminati. I particularly enjoy this because my entire house has black and white checkered floors.

It FORCES people to buy 8 packs of 10 hot dogs, and 10 packs of 8 buns, to achieve an equal proportion...the bastards...

Four packs of ten hot dogs and five packs of eight buns works too, though. :)

I knew someone would bring that up...it was hyperbole damnit...

lol, I'm sorry... I'm the lowest common denominator. ;)

Dad
Ten buns means it must be 2 rows of 5, which doesn't always work in a bakers oven. The 3X4 rectangle is more convenient and fits perfectly.
Bakers therefore sell 2X4 of the buns.

Hot dogs are made differently and do not have the limitations of the bakers oven space.

I hope that's finally answered for you.

By the way if you can now work out how a bakers dozen fits in the oven you'll get a medal.

What does an oven or pan have to do with how many they end up putting in a package though?

YUP so people can stick the extras betwixt their own buns. Just go easy on the mustard... That shit can burn a sphincter.

Hot dogs are Bologna sausages.
Comment Hidden (show)
Because only 4/5 of people enjoy their hot dogs with a bun.... Or because of the illuminati, like Neuroneptunian said.
Comment Hidden (show)
I don't know where you shop, but when I used to eat hot dogs they came in a pack of 8 and the buns also came in a pack of 8. I wouldn't touch a hot dog now unless you put a condom on it.
Comment Hidden (show)
That's just retarded.
Comment Hidden (show)
Wait...

Aren't hot dogs the sausage and bun combined?

Hot dogs aren't the sausages... A sausage is a sausage. It's the magical addition of the bread that completes the cuisine. Am I right or am I right?

Sausage + Bun = Hot Dog.
Hot Dog + Bun = A Hot Dog with 2 buns. Excessive bread involved if you ask me.

Maybe you're thinking of a corndog?
Comment Hidden (show)
-
No we don't have corndogs here. Maybe it's because I'm British.

Over here a Hot Dog is the bun + sausage (typically a frankfurter).

Maybe where you are a Hot Dog is the bun + sausage, but also just the sausage?

Cultural difference perhaps :/
Comment Hidden (show)
Not really. A burger without a bun is still a burger, a hot dog without a bun is still a hot dog. Y'know?

Yeah I think there's cultural confusion on my part.

Here in the UK a hot dog = a sausage in a bun, the complete package. We don't call the sausages themselves hot dogs :)

I'm from the UK too. :P
Comment Hidden (show)

Oh :/ different part of the UK then? I've never heard anybody call the sausages by themselves 'hot dogs'.
Comment Hidden (show)
You are technically right, but if someone says a hot dog and a bun when know what they mean.
Comment Hidden (show)
Its a conspiracy by the Jews.
Comment Hidden (show)
you people are all wrong... ITS THE CORPORATIONS, THEY MAKE MILLIONS OF THE EXTRA BUN INCOME, THEN MORE FROM THE EXTRA HOTDOGS THAT YOU BUY TO USE TO EXTRA BUNS AND SO ON! ITS AN INFINITE CYCLE OF CONSUMERISIM MANNN!
