I don't judge based on religious views, I respect everyone's own beliefs. I was just really curious what the "norm" is nowadays. I am an athiest and most of my friends are Christians

I am now a Mormon, and I get a ton of BS from everyone that cares about religion, unless they are also a Mormon. But I am happy with my religion and what not so it doesn't bother me that much.
No matter what it is in life, if you are doing something that you love, there will always be someone that wants to take you down a notch or criticize you.
I don't like being lumped in with "Catholic or any other."
Catholicism isn't even the most popular religion...
Allow me to explain my views:
- If there is no God, I see this image of "God" to be a way to keep people in line; a way to keep people from going crazy. Think about it, They use fear and desire to control the innocent minds of the people. Do something bad in life, and you rot in hell. Be a good person, you get all you've ever wanted. I personally do not want to believe any of this is true. I want to live my life the way I want to, and wherever it is that I go after this lifetime, I'll know when it's my time to go.
- If by some chance there is a God out there, I'll never know until the day I die. I'm one of those people who would like to have either strong evidence backing something or being able to see that something rather than blindly believing in it. This is where most people seem to get angry at me. I find it strange that people can blindly follow an idea that they are not assured is true; this brings me back to point 1 though. I believe they use fear and desire to take the place of reasoning. Strange how things work, eh?
By the way my school was Christian it's called Latin Patriarchate School, so you can say I know most if not all Christians in Gaza.
I'm christian but i think going to church just a waste of time -.-
i'd rather not be surrounded by hypocrites all day -.-
I'm not that religious anyways & they try to force me to be
that's why i hate going to church . . . Blah
You have also divided people who believe in a particular branch of Abrahamic religion from other people who believe the same thing, which might be offensive to some people, whether they are religious or not religious.
Why are you creating divisions in society?
Why are you creating divisions in society?
Although i do accept the criticism that my mom gives me for it, she says "you're just hedging your bets aren't you"
Self-worship.
... :p
Atheism/Theism regards belief in a deity/deities
Agnosticism/Gnosticism regards the "firmness" of that belief.
A Gnostic Atheist would say the statement "No gods exist" is an absolute and irrefutable truth.
An Agnostic Atheist would believe the statement to be true, but could not be absolutely certain, and wouldn't deny that there is a possibility (however small) that the statement is false.
I'm Christian, Eastern Orthodox.
