The stories about people being cruel to animals and wanting to kill everybody. I am also sick of this whole "I want a zombie apocalypse" thing. No, you don't.
If you combine the most common thing about zombies (only their brain needs to be alive for them to act) with rational science (that is to say, we assume there is some 'disease' or mutation, but no supernatural powers involved) it wouldn't be that bad.
The human body decomposes at an extremely rapid rate when exposed to the elements. What use is an immortal brain when there's no body for it to move around and kill people with?
I think it would be interesting to see the effects of an outbreak, nonetheless, on the global community. Tragic, horrible, devastating, frightening... yes. But also interesting.
I find that humans achieve greatness and unify the best when we have an "us vs. them" situation. WWII, for example. Imagine if "us" was the entire human race, and "them" was zombies? Imagine the greatness and unity that could be born from that horrific event...
Let's build a mothership, you and I. I'll get the western hemisphere in on it, you take care of the eastern. Just tell them it's so we can fly away when the alien apocalypse happens.
Haha ok ok I believe you now, forgive me for doubting you. Oh btw, do you know some guy named Zorlok? he wanted to strike a deal with us but we refused.
Oh, I agree with you there. I'm certainly not oblivious to the bad nor would I want to be, it's just that sometimes seeing it bothers me and I do wish that people wouldn't do those things.

(...what? No, not now Zorlok. I'm trying to convince them- yes yes, you get control of the Earth, just pay me my moon sapphires!)
...where was I? Oh, right. I would NEVER use a fellow human as bait. Or sell out the human race. Silly notion. It's all about unity.
