God dammit Allistalla. Keep your grubby little fingers off of Depeche Mode and The Cure. You can keep your delinquent fantasies.
Expressing emotion in music doesn't make it emo. Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata is an incredibly sad, emotional piece, but if somebody ever called it emo I would punch them in the dick and/or vagina.
Emo music originally took the sound of early punk bands like Minor Threat, and the emotion of alternative bands like the Smiths, and put it together. Emo was inspired by characteristics of those bands. That doesn't mean those bands are emo.
It's really not a huge deal, but if you're going to make a bland poll, at least do it correctly.
The cure -new wave/goth rock
Depeche Mode (shit, took me a while to figure that one) -electro pop/new wave.
William control -electronic artist.
Him -rock/goth rock/metal.
Please google before you post.
...That should answer your question.
From your list, She Wants Revenge.
I voted for cure cause Friday I'm in love.
Although I'm not sure how that would help, really.
I like MCR, fuck the rest.
Real emo bands: Braid, Rites of Spring, Christie Front Drive
