Thanks for that, that was what i was interested in. I take a class at school and we did a survey, most people there seemed to have E. And then i wondered what people on the internet had.
Heh, then why did my college counselor get me to take it? Why is it accepted by the psychological community? It DOES mean something. You act like this is a horoscope; its not, its backed by science.
Not all scientists - one of my lecturers had sharp criticisms about it. Nonetheless I still found it interesting. Not a fan of pigeon holing people into "types" either but Myers-Brigg is probably one of those slightly more useful fictions
i keep retaking it every few months but always end up with different results, but my most common one is INFP, but frankly i couldnt care less :P. I got ENFP once.
Noones saying that's all there is to a person. That's like saying that someone is a nice person. Does that mean that they are summed up in two words? No, its just one side to them.
I'm not sure it's strictly meaningless. I think if everyone had answered in the thread and said what type they were, you'd start spotting patterns and seeing how people with the same type respond in similar ways to things.
The tests aren't really to tell us about ourselves, they're to categorise what is already known. And by identifying each other's category, we learn how best to deal with people. Just by looking at people's responses, I think many of us could guess what some of each person's letters are going to be. I certainly know the people I expect to have at least three letters in common with me. And there are two people yet to post who I think have all four the same as me.
The truth is, the letters are unimportant because we all make our judgements and try to understand each other. Physics explains why a ball falls to the floor when we drop it. But you don't need to understand physics to know the ball is going to fall and how fast it's going to accelerate. I think it's the same kind of thing.
I spent a lot of time as INTP but as I get older the TP as changed to FJ for many situations. And occasionally the N turns to S. It really depends on the the specific situation at hand. I think we are too close to ourselves to accurately define who we are. I am always honest with myself and I know how I want to react, but that doesn't always mean it's what I do. So today, I am INFP, but tomorrow I might be a bit more ISTJ.
...whatever that means. I know that I can be both introverted and extroverted, depending on the situation. The same with most of the other descriptions. Over half of those questions, the answer could have gone either way - so I just picked the one that I was most in the mood for.
Well, this is funny. I'm an INFP I was about to make a poll about this when I decided to look if it existed already and what do you know... of course an INFP created it! :D
I found this:
"In this study (2000), it was stated that INxx are approx. 5%; of the world population, but 26% of the internet users."
This is probably a huge factor:
"A study from MENSA (1991, 1997) says that INxx's account for 5% of the population, but 40% of MENSA members."
Anyway, INTJ here.
Awesome - 100%

I have a Valkeer type personality. Who and what am I doesn't fit neatly into anybody's classifications.

March on, you wonderfully amazing rare specimen. Your like will never be seen on this earth again.
"It doesn't mean anything"
Exactly. Yet so many people look to these tests, horoscopes, and zodiacs to tell them who they are when it's all meaningless mumbo jumbo.

I am officially lost. Lol is this sort of like an IQ test? You just answer questions and it tells you your personality? Lol never heard of this.
