I had mine for 5 years. The front face was shattered, the battery was garbage, and it had it wouldn't receive calls half the time when i finally got an iphone. Take the leap and get a smartphone. The only time i've been on this site without using my phone is when i uploaded my profile pic. I'm at work now, my boss would probably like to smash this thing, but damn is it convenient.
iPhone4 32GB. I've had since probably about oct 2010. It's served me pretty well. Most of my photography and videos were made on it. I've dropped it a few times, but have never needed to get it repaired. I've got thousand of things on it and I still have space left.
Now, the phone I had before it was a LG Shine and it was fucking waste of time. I took allot of photos on it and I ask if Geek Squad if there was a way for me to get those photos off and they told me that there wasn't a Fucking "card" in it! I don't know what that piece was called but it wasn't in the phone and to this day, those photos are stuck on there! The camera was pretty pathetic. The photos were often TOO grainy and the resolution was horrible. It deleted my old texts automatically. The memory system made no sense. I went to brooklyn once and took photos. It said I had to delete some to make room. I deleted about 5-10 and it STILL said that there wasn't any room! It seems to me that if you delete a few than there should be some space! Then it kept sending me alerts that I had no space repeatedly, yet I was still able to take photos and receive texts. The original model I got, started overheating. I kept that phone in my pocket and it would get so hot and stay like that even after I turned it off. I had to get it replaced and the guy tells me that there were reports of that model overheating. So why would they still sell it? It's like when the Xbox 360 had the "Ring of Death" and it took Microsoft quite a few tries to fix the problem, but at least they fixed it! The battery was another problem. The graphic consisted of three thick bars and it barely lasted. It took about two-three hours to charge and texting or a phone call could drain it out in a few seconds!
I learned that getting a LG was a huge mistake and that buying the iPhone was one of the best choices I had ever made.
About the photos on your old phone. I don't how tech savvy you are, but sometimes there is software that you can get that, with the proper cable, will allow you to transfer the files on your phone to your computer. It might be worth a little research to you :)
I did get a program for it, but my laptop ended up crashing shortly after I installed it:( There were some cables that I think I bought for one of my phones. I don't think it worked and I might of taken them back.
wow that is bad! my last phone was an LG and (coincidentally?) the worst phone i've ever had. issues with battery & memory. the 5MP camera was worse then some VGA cameras i've had LOL. happy with my SGS2 now =)
Blackberry umm..5300? I have no idea. My boyfriend got it from some guy off of eBay and when his friend was willing to sell him a different one for cheap, he gave me this one. Now he's on his third blackberry.
I really don't have any complaints. It's better than the piece of shit samsung gravity that I had for like four years.
They have iPhones that don't need a contract, but those models are rather expensive. I don't know how much the bill is for mine, but it's certainly not a minuscule amount. If you buy it at a apple store, PLEASE get the apple care! I bought mine at best buy, but the insurance the cover EVERYTHING. Neither does apple, but they cover most. I got apple care for my macbook and it makes a HUGE difference. When my hard drive crashed, I had to leave it with them and they had to order a new hard drive. I came to get it and read the paper. The care thankfully didn't cost me a thing, but without it I would of had to pay around $8 thousand O.0 I think there's about three packages for the care and the third one covers about three years. I think the price is a couple of hundred $, but certainly worth it.
For apps, you have to get a apple account to register the product but they should do it at the store. Apps are in the app store and you either have to pay with a credit card or a gift card. Some apps are free and it's usually best to get them when they first come out because the popular ones sometimes end up having a price later on.
Noooo not a BB. they don't compare to the other smartphones. i recommend HTC x or HTC one, or a samsung galaxy s 2 which i have. it's better at performing then my PC! lol..
p.s how do people contact you when you're out & about?
Got it cos I put my Samsung Preston through the wash. Never heard of Samsung Preston? Yeah. Bastards sold it to me as the newest, best phone they had. They stopped making it, like, a few days later or something. Getting parts for the smashed screen was fun.
I like Motorola, had a few of them. I hate Nokia, would never get one, and refuse to get an iPhone on principle.
Lol, you wanna know what kind of phone I have? It's a PIECE OF SHIT, that's what it is. I feel so strongly about it, that I actually named it ''Piece of shit.''
Thank GOD for the end of my contract, which comes up the first of June! BETTER phone, here we come!
Oh, and if you're really wondering, it's an LG Remarq. Boo!

I am thinking about getting one, though. Which one? Not sure, I like the Blackberry, so maybe I'll buy one soon.
I think I am going to have to, though. :) Maybe I should get a IPhone...
I actually have one of those, it is just not activated at the moment. So it's the same as not having one. I use it as a alarm. :}
Just not open enough to do things with it... ANDROID ftw!
Maybe I can avoid getting one. ^_^

Always back up your iPhone before updates, etc.
Get a case incase you drop it.
I hoped that helps:)
Now, if I could only find a way to preform a exorcism on it. Just joking of course. :D
I could buy a brand new custom desktop with some of the most expensive hardware on the market for that much dough!
p.s how do people contact you when you're out & about?
When I am out it is usually with my mother, she has a phone. Or, a couple of people that I know, they will let me use their phone if I ask.
