You, a grown adult, are afraid of the dark. Why? What is the most basic reason. If I haven't included it, feel free to explain.

Sorry, you need to be signed in to comment.
And it's funny so I wanted to share it.
Can't please everyone all of the time I suppose.
Although, what I said was out of observation that no one said anything about yet, OP. I was more less wondering if anyone had noticed. That's all. . .
It reminded me of some people on IIN and what they would do if they actually did see a cute little fairy. :D
That is true. I've read stories and comments that prove some would do exactly that.
And have you felt your neck skin crawl
When you're searching for the light?
Sometimes when you're scared to take a look
At the corner of the room
You've sensed that something's watching you
Have you ever been alone at night
Thought you heard footsteps behind
And turned around and no one's there?
And as you quicken up your pace
You find it hard to look again
Because you're sure there's someone there
Watching horror films the night before
Debating witches and folklore
The unknown troubles on your mind
Maybe your mind is playing tricks
You sense, and suddenly eyes fix
On dancing shadows from behind
I have been like this since a child, I would insist from a very young age on the door being shut so the light didn't shine in and no gaps in the curtains....so maybe I'm a bit weird lol
Also, I have delusions of dead people that I have seen in photographs screaming and coming to beg me to help them or in other scenarios they are angry that I looked at their pictures for entertainment. This is a recent thing though.
I also have a fear of ghosts. I'm afraid of things that I can not see or control and ghosts are one of them.
Of course I know that there is no such thing as zombies or ghosts, at least not in MY reality. But that doesn't stop my mind from creating those images.
In dark rooms, I often hallucinate that something is in the room with me or that I'm being watched. I've had this for many years, though:/
