Women say they know what "real men" are
Favorited (undo) 28 Comments

Have you noticed that women, not all but quite a few, always talk as if they know what "real men" are, and compare other males to what they "think" a real man is?
I have noticed that alot of females tend to mix up what they see as "real men" with what they want their men or men in general should be like. Could you imagine the shit storm that would happen if men tried to do this to women as much as they do it to males, telling them what real women are? I'm pretty sure it happens too, although not as much as it does from females to males.

I think that what a "real man" is, is something only males can conclude, not women, and the same in vice versa.

Would you agree with this?

I agree that it's bullshit, but I don't agree that it's something anyone can conclude. Even men. I don't know what the heck a "real" specimen of my gender is. How could anyone, being only one person, know what it's like for everyone else?

Word. There are women I can relate to infinitely better than most men. Arbitrary distinctions, arbitrary distinctions.

I find this whole "real man" stuff stupid. There is no definition of a "real man" other than being a matured male. There are no rules you need to abide by to make you a male, other than having the organs required to be one, no personality traits will suddenly make you "more male" than others. Same goes for females.

Some of what some women describe as "real men" are the exact opposite; completely unrealistic.

REAL Man: Over the age of 18, has the XY chromosome.
A dick and two testicles is a good indicator, but not 100% nor necessary.

REAL Woman: Over the age of 18, has the XX chromosome.
A vagina is a good indicator, but not 100% nor necessary.

I just did both. It CAN be done.

It never bothered me. It's just another way of saying what's an ideal person for them. We do it too just in our own way.

Honestly though, I don't think there is such thing as a "real man" or "real woman" there's "my type" though.

Great answer! It's only what that person thinks; what they want in a man/woman.

If women knew what real men were they'd have nightmares. And never leave the house lol.

And real women stay in the kitchen? This is just fucking retarded.

They are allowed to say their preferences but to say that all other guys are not men because they are not like what she imagines them to be.. Stay in the kitchen and shut up please.

A real man wouldn't have asked this question xD

No, seriously, I see your point and I think you're right.

It pretty much depends on your needs and how you have been taught to address them. If you are the kind of woman who thinks she needs a man who can defend her and who meets certain widely accepted requirements then you are going to think a "real man" is the one who has got all or most of these characteristics.. most people have been taught to look for something in particular in a man or a woman or a gay guy for that matter in order to call him or her a real woman or a real man.. they are called standards, everyone has got some. About the "signs" you were talking about, using a certain tone of the voice, saying particular things with a double meaning, being condiscendent, feasing, they change based on the cultural background.. they can be either very explicit or implicit and subtle.Eyeing you very frequently is often one of the first signs needed to initiate a flirting manouvre... Then comes the flattering, the mutual exchange of confidences and so forth, you grow closer and closer.. then I come inside the room and tell you to cut the romantic bullcrap out and find get a bloody room. Because this is my room goddamn it!

All of this "real man" & "real woman" bs drives me crazy.

It is pure nonsense dribbled from the mouths of idiots. Try to pay no mind to it: We don't need them to try to tell us what they think a real man or real woman is.

We already know what real men are:
Those with male genitalia. Duh.

Next time I hear a woman saying what a "real" man is, I'll smack her upside the face with her own titty.

no i dont fully agree i think everyones confused about this "real " thing. the real thing! nice

The concept of the 'real man' or 'real woman' changes depending on the idiotic person saying it. I believe they mean something closer to THEIR PERFECT PARTNER but put others down as inadequate as they do not reach these expectations. I had a conversation with 2 of my closest friends and when stating the qualities of a 'real man' realised how different their concepts are. I added some over due immaturity to the situation by stating (in my best Pinocchio voice) "maybe you just want to get yourself a real boy" we laughed n went dancing, stupid convo over and carried on having fun! :)

This happens every day to me. Women tell me a real man does all the work a real man is rich I CALL CAT SHIT!

a REAL woman doesnt judge a book by it's cover.
Comment Hidden (show)
i disagree.

A woman CAN be right about what a "real man" is like.

Being right or wrong has nothing to do with what's between your legs

She can be, but those females are definetly the minority of the gender.

not always. you're banking on the assumption that all women are wrong about what real men are like.

my take is that it depends on the person
and that assuming everyone is the same because of their gender is in itself a fallacy

Considering that nearly every female I've seen talk about the subject, it's as if they have no idea what men are really like. I could imagine you saying it's a different matter when men say they know what women are really like...I could be wrong though.

Again it depends on the person.

after all your basis is "every female you've seen talk about the subject"... that may also be because you're talking to the wrong women.

In person and online. I don't think it's just a coinsidence that most of which I've known in person and communicated with online say similair things.
Why is it when ever a guy comes up with situations like this that girls constantly say "It's just the girls in your location"? I bet that if you put every guy's location from when females have said "It's only the girls in your location" then most of the world's location would be covered. Even though most of the votes are in agreement with what I've said, I guess they don't know what they're talking about either. Oh well, we have our different opinions.
