All my friends are prettier than me. No, all my friends are uglier than me. Wait, why am I picking friends based on looks?

My idea of what is good looking and what is plain looking is so fucking far off of the charts and my self-esteem has been in the toilet for years. To be honest, I just don't even evaluate anymore.

Most of my female friends I have correctly evaluated are better looking than me. So the sleaze balls that I can't stand talking to go hit on them instead. It's a fair trade off to be the ugly betty of the group. They love talking to those sleazy guys whereas I don't.

So I guess it would be the personality that counts. Looks are great until she opens her mouth.

If, by any chance there was a girl that looked better than me? Yes, yes I would befriend her, but, she has to be a beautiful human on the inside, too. I don't care what anyone looks like. If you are a good person and you look like the Elephant Man, we can be friends. Looks play no roll in how I choose my friends. It's all about who you are as a human being.

Of course I would befriend them/her. If you're not befriending girls that you consider prettier than you, you might have a jealousy or self-esteem problem. I think it's very vain to think that some people really judge whether they're going to befriend someone based on their physical appearance. Everybody claims it's what's on the inside that counts but nobody seems to practice what they preach.

You wouldn't be worrying if they're prettier or uglier than you if you're confident.

I was close to choosing "Yes, why not", but "Its the personality that counts" saves me from a lot more explaining in the comment.

Really, I'm fine the way I am.
They are different people, not extensions of myself. And i choose my friends by personality/hobbies/things we have in common/interests/...not by looks.
Yet SINCE you bring it up, if I am to spend lots of time with them, I'll actually be glad for having pretty friends, since I'll spend a lot of time looking at them when we're doing things together.

I am insecure about some aspects of my looks, but not insecure enough to define myself through other people to an extent it would influence who I could have as friend and who not.

when i was younger i didn't like befriending good looking girls coz i felt a bit intimidated by them so couldn't really be myself, but now i dont think like that, if we get along i dont care what someone looks like

I don't get women. I never care if my friends are better looking than me or not. I care about how well we get a long. I care about the personality of the person more so that the looks.

I made friends with plenty of beautiful girls in high school and I'm pretty much just an average looking, girl next door type, so I definitely paled in comparison to them, looks-wise. But they were really funny and actually nice people so we hit it off really well and remained friends; its not just about looks.

Yes; and anyone that doesn't is immature and needs some serious self esteem. Personally, I don't compare myself to other girls. Why should I care whether she's prettier than me or not. As long as she is a good person, then she is capable of befriending. I think female competion is ridiculous and I've never understood it. Girls who compete with other girls like need to get over themselves. You should be happy with what you have and who you are.

I befriend anyone who I think is interesting or cool as in fun to be around. I dont care if they are prettier than me, when I wanna be friends with someone I wont start looking at stuff like that, its all about how we get along.

Ha I'm so glad I'm male sometimes. No guy would ask this kind of question, and I doubt any guy would have a problem being friends with guys better looking than them.

But I would have no friends at all! Wait wait wait. I mean I would have waaaaaay too many friends :(
