For me, it would depend on whether or not the friend lied intentionally or just didn't know. If they lied intentionally, then, in my opinion of course, it would be their fault. I mean, how was I supposed to know that their was malicious intent behind that savior needle? It's not like I could help it either, as I am an addict. Though, I have heard of hospitals and organizations giving away needles for free just to prevent the spread of diseases and stuff. Still though, I'm an addict, so that wouldn't matter; my extreme addiction would not allow for an expedition to the hospital, or other place of interest, to purchase another needle.

If, on the other hand, the friend honestly didn't know when he told me he was clean, that would be a different story. I would not blame him if that were the case.

Final decision: neither. But you shouldn't have been doing heroine in the first place :P
