I'm not about to give everyone guns in order to protect themselves (SOME.....NOT ALL...Americans think the more guns people have, the less crime we'll have) but it's easy to sit back in your comfortable home in a country with little or no guns and admonish another country for their attempt in equality of the masses.

I can tell by your attitude in your writing that you have a grudge against America that would exist even if America didn't have the gun problem it does today.
What's your crime rate in your oh-so-perfect country? I bet it's not as low as it could be.
The next time there's a school shooting in China will you be posting stories about their gun laws and how your country is so much better than theirs?

yeah I found it incredible that some peoples solution to Virgina Tech was MORE GUNS! How fucking stupid is that? I think i sa that Britain had 75 gun murders in 2005 but the USA had 11000.

The sad part of our problem is that many people are willing to put a pretend right(the right to bear arms) above the safety of their fellow citizens.And I say pretend be its obvious that the 2nd amendment refers to "well regulated militias" and is a throw back to revolutionary days.anyway the next killing will kill 75 students and we will once again wonder why it happened....and all the while we continue to make more and more guns.

The problems is not the quantity of guns, nor the easy access to them. I have access to a gun, and have never used it.

Do you really think that if every student on the Virginia Tech Campus had a gun, that when the guy started shooting others with guns wouldn't start shooting, and then others come into the situation and see the original shooter being shot, so they shoot the person who is shooting the original shooter and so on?

It's kind of confusing, but when it comes down to it, if you give every person in America a gun, you're going to have more gun violence because of irresponsible people who will shoot first and ask questions later.

I agree with you mostly stargirl, but the thing about making things illegal or legal is just one more government hipocresy statement or another weak attempt from good people to stop bad things.
There are many reasons why the illegal weapons is one of the most lucrative business ever, so I dont think another dumb law will stop that.

A gun may become illegal, but it is made by a company, not an individual. So if the company's started lowering the amount manufactured, there'd be less guns becoming illegal.

Part of our Bill of right includes "the right to bear arms" Since your british soldiers came over and tried to quell the rebellion, our newly found gov't decided it necessary to protect ourselves w/ guns. Now it has gotten crazy and people are abusing that gurantee. You see, we dont want to deal w. it because it will cause controversy and a lot of angry gunmen/hunters. if we ever too kthe right away to bear arms, the millions of gun owners would go crazy. you have no idea what your talking about.you have to have a license to have a gun in the state of virginia.i was born there and i know for a fact if you report some who has possession of a gun without a license it's automatically 5 years in prison for them.The issue here i think isn't really gun control.We need to learn how to handle situations such as that better.you know take less than 2 hours to stop some freak who has girlfriend troubles or wtfever his prob was.

my mom used to carry a gun,and that was 10 years ago.alot of people do actually.my boss carries one,and we live in a small town.If i wasn't scared to shoot a gun.i'd have one.actually a gun saved my life once,or atleast my virginity.I was 14,and this guy had been watching me and my friends play in a pool.After i had went in and took a shower,he knocked on my door,and my friends neice,who was only 6,not knowing any better let him in.He kept saying he just wanted to go in my room,and "chill".I knew what he wanted,i wasn't stupid.Somehow we got out of my house.Later I went back in checked the house,somehow the guy got back in,he pretty much picked me up and threw me on my bed.i got my moms gun and told him i was going to shoot him,he ran,and got caught later.SRY that was kinda long,but I think guns are neccesary in scaring BAD PEOPLE away from you.
