As anyone with a basic knowledge of anatomy knows, it is a physical impossibility for a female to posess an adams apple.
The only thing my colleagues in the medical profession can think of is a throat tumour.
Either that or you swallowed a golf ball.

Hello! just seen your message and after reading some of the replies, feel I should write to "I hope" reassure you that it is "TOTALLY NORMAL" for women to have an adams apple.
All women have them, it's part of human anatomy, just men have much bigger adams apples.
There's nothing wrong with you at all, don't let anyone try tell you otherwise OK sweetheart.
If people cannot accept you as you are, well they're not worth your time basically, I imagine you have heard of tracheah shaving which is adams apple reduction, I mention this not to suggest having that op' but to warn you that your voice can be damaged or altered, and why go through that for an ignorant minority anyway.
I'll tell you this too as it's relevant. I once used to date a lady sevaral years ago now who probably had a much bigger adams apple than you, was quite a lot taller than me, and every inch a woman having had children, I thought it was quite sexy on her actually, which was just as well for she liked it being kissed.

The name adams apple was only given to it because Adam was the one that bit the apple first "I think" lol...hey! why not call it an Eves apple...well she bit it too. It's not technically an Adam's apple, it's the super-cartilaginous part of the trachea. It's only called an 'adam's apple' when very prominent. Also, there is in fact a bone in your throat called the hyoid which causes lumpage.

Wow...Some of the idiots writing here have obviously never touched a woman in their life. Every single woman has an "adam's apple"...for women, it's called an "eve's apple", a "peach"...whatever you wanna call it and in some women it could be more prominent and in others it isn't...but EVERY SINGLE WOMAN HAS ONE that's for sure. Uneducated fools.
And, I wanna add that I've dated many women and I've always noticed that the ones with bigger Eve's Apple's are extremely beautiful and femine, more than the ones with small ones. Don't know if it has to do with that, but one thing's for sure, there's nothing to be ashamed of, if anything you should be proud of it.

i just want to say that i think it's wonderful that everyone is being so supportive. I recently had this guy tell me that I had an adams apple, so I began to notice it. I wanted to be insecure about it but after reading what all of you have written, I know that if it's reason for someone not to like me, they aren't deserving of the chance to get to know me. Or any other person out there who is treated less than b/c of what someone else perceives as a flaw; It's our imperfections that make us human.
