I like to read the Bible
But I like to read it in an unconventional way, like I believe the essenes did in the time of Jesus.
Most people read the Bible like a Novel, or like a History book, and I dont believe that is wise.
I mostly read like you would normally read a Book, but when I encounter a passage that doesnt appear to make sense, I study it carefully. This way is the way the secrets of the ancients are stored.
And I also believe the Bible was written by men, so this men made mistakes, and something HAD to get lost in the Greek translation in II century BC.
So I dont believe everything the Bible says, but I take the things I believe in my heart to be true, and I tend to meditate on those things.
Normally, I research more than the Bible says, like the hidden meaning of the natural elements and other metaphors (widely used by wise men).
To give an example, if we manage to be just and wise in the eyes of God, we generate Light, sacred fire; and like natural fire, one little flame can light a whole forrest on fire; like Jesus did.
Jesus was indeed an incendiary.
But my limit is not the Bible, I love to research into all religious texts of different cultures. Most have very similar teachings.
Is it normal??
The essence were the ones that refused to fight for land or power, and went to meditate to the mountains in order to keep the Sacred pact of "thou shall not kill".
So I take it you dont read the Bible? you should man, is full of Wisdom.
If you find your inner-self dancing to the macarena, and reach Nirvana through its dancing Wisdom, then you may be right.
I believe we all can learn things from: Buddhism, Tantra, Gnosis, Bible apocryphae in Old and New testament, Hermetism, Zoroatrism, Induism, inner alchemy, etc. etc.
You would be surprised how things just match between those, after all, they all come from the same source.
Once I read Gnosis and alchemy, I understood Genesis, and Apocalipse.
With Buddhism, I understood the path to follow.
With Zoroastrism, I understood the meaning of the White Light and sacred fire references in the Bible.
With Tantra, I understood the sexual energy, practices, and references to it in Genesis.
With Rastafarism, I understood the unification of all religions, into one, that is our own.
Anyway, I believe we shouldnt be closed minded at all the Wisdom and love the Masters of mankind have come to teach us.
Shalom
This dude was awesome, of course, not after he was "crucified" by the USA.
I am a very insocial person, out of personal preference. Is because quite frankly I find most people very boring.
You may see me as a geek or something, I love books, I read the Bible and all ancient texts I can get my hands on. I am just so thirsty of knowledge and Wisdom.
I also like TV (=.
But most of all, I thank God I have my wife, because she understands me, and give me the best company one could ask for.
Be well my brother
W/e its a book.
