I agree with you and can explain why. The media in the USA loves to make stars and celebrities out of nobodies and feed us this fecal material. They do this because it generates sales, brings in money, gets the public to buy into the nonsense and follow the crap. The public watches it on television and this means higher ratings for the networks, more advertising and in the end more money. The media took it to an absurd level covering the feuding as to where Anna Nicole would be buried and showed a blubbering judge on tv. That was among the most pathetic things I ever viewed.

These same people buy magazines and newspapers to read about these crap stories. Bottom line, it is again about making money.

The same goes for all these holidays in the USA and the reason for their existence. Valentines day, Thanksgiving, Presidents Day, New Years Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day, Martin Luther King Day, etc. etc. These holidays generate more sales, more money. Valentines Day is a joke, but if fools will buy greetings cards and gifts it means more sales.

There was another woman on the show from Saudi Arabia there and she said the exact same thing aferwards, that what she said was twisted and cut to make it look more saucy.

Yes, this is all very true about modern day 'celebrity'. If it's any consolation (but I'm guessing it's not) it's the same here in the UK. A particular example I could give is a girl called Coleen Mcloughlin. She has no discernible talent whatsoever. The only reason she is famous is because she goes out with a famous footballer. Because of this she somehow qualifies as a 'celebrity' and is featured in countless newspapers and magazines, presumably because she is so good at...going out with this footballer. Now I hear she's getting her own TV show! If it wasn't for her famous BF noone would have a clue who she was and she'd probably be working in a Cacky D's in Liverpool, living in some manky council estate. Oh and apparently next week a new series of Big Brother starts. What joy!
