Government spending should be concentrated on Hospitals and helping folks who have genuine problems to which they havent attributed themselves.

No one forces a smackhead to do smack and no one forces them to break into some poor old dears house to steal what the old couple have probably worked for all of their lives.

I find your primitive sense of justice appalling. Most of the time, it's a mental problem or illness, among other factors, that leads someone to a life of drugs and stealing to support the habit. Drug addiction is a genuine problem, and addicts shouldn't be excluded from hospital treatment. Many of them can live productive lives if given the chance.

No, I just live in a bad city for drugs, and the cops are more interested in giving out traffic tickets than busting dealers, and they know exactly who the dealers are. Everyone in town does. I would like to move if I could, but I'm unable to. The side of town I live on isn't too bad, compared to the rest of the city. If you go more towards the west side or north east, you'll see homeless people and crackheads everywhere. I find it really sad that the government isn't helping these people, because most of them are decent people. They'll just do about anything to feed their addictions.

Fred, sounds like you live in a true shit hole city and that is the reason why I will always prefer living in the country to stay away from those kinds of people. The cops in all city's know who the dealers but can do nothing but arrest the assholes once a week and let them back on the street, its beyond the cops. I was watching cops two days ago and they arrested one of these known dealers then told the camera that the guy had been arrested in his life time in that city over 80 times. I couldn't believe it and still dont, shouldn't that guy be living a life a sentence? Or sent to the chair? He has shown that he is nothing but a career petty criminal so why keep letting him bail out of jail? The system is fucked and to easy on people like that. If someone gets caught dealing drugs they need to be put away for many many years and not let out until they are an old man, I dont care how many new jails we have to build to make room something needs to be done. All these degenerates can seek help for their problems the government has many programs but they cant go round up these bumbs and take them to rehab they need to walk them selves in there and get a new life. Yes, this is a shithole city. I would move back to the country in a second, if I could. It was great living out there in the middle of nowhere. I do agree with you, that long time dealers should be locked away from society untill it is sure that they won't be spreading their poisons to the masses. Drugs have messed up far too many lives. About the drug programs and rehab centres, that's part of the problem here. They've shut down the big mental institution and rehab center here, and on top of that, we have no homeless shelter. So all the crazies and druggies have either been shipped off to other facilities, or forced out onto the streets. They are working on building a homeless shelter now, so hopefully that is a step in the right direction.
