If the gov't didn't want you to believe that pot is worse for you than alcohol or tabacco....it wouldn't be so stigmatized.

It may not be completely void of any negative effects, but when you compare the statistics and do the research you'd find that pot is the lesser of evils....even though it's illegal.

I honestly hate our entire system its a joke. I look at alcohol has being an age old tradition and its just something you cannot take away from society. Pot is something I and alot of the rest of america can live without so whether its worse or not I'm glad its illegal because if it was legal then it would just be another harmful thing that people would buy at the gas station on the way home from work. If you look back on history a non currupt society never happend there has always been scandle and people taking advantage of their power, I believe its human nature.

Pot was a tradition for some until it got taken away.....but when the alcoholics got their vice taken away they threw a hissy fit and got the gov't to bring it back.

You can accept governments being corrupt as human nature but you can't accept that smoking weed for relaxation purposes is human nature also?

Did you know that every single society on this planet has had some form of drug they use for relaxation and stress release purposes? What burns me is that technically we're not allowed to choose which one to use, we're only supposed to drink alcohol.....which I don't want to do because the dangers outweigh the benefits...if there is any benefits.

Drinking is something you do not take away from men, pot who gives a shit about weed, beer is in our culture and always will be. I dont know what the government was smoking when they decided to take alcohol away because all it did was cause wide spread problems. Taking pot away didn't cause any immediate problems because people were fooled into thinking it was ok for the gov't to ban it because they were lied to about the actual effects of it.
If alcohol was widely publicized as something that is as bad as heroin (the way marijuana was), it would've stayed illegal too.

Studies do show pot is bad for you...yes...but studies show alcohol is even worse for you than pot....and yet it's still legal.
That's my problem.....if pot is so bad for someone, than why the hell is something that's so much worse for a human legal? It doesn't make sense other than the real reason behind it being made illegal was so that someone could line their pockets with money....and that's not a good enough reason to keep me from smoking it.

I acknowledge that it's still illegal because of monetary purposes, but it doesn't make it bad, and it doesn't make me a bad person for advocating it.

I wasn't brainwashed into thinking this way. I read all the research from BOTH sides of the argument and decided for myself.
I used to drink a lot of alcohol myself. But when I switched to smoking marijuana I found that I could remember what I did every night, I didn't make an ass out of myself by losing control over my extremities, and I didn't feel like I got hit by a mack truck the next day.

Please don't assume that I cannot make decisions for myself. I chose marijuana because I like it. If you like alcohol, go ahead and drink it. But please understand that when you put on paper the effects and after effects of both alcohol and marijuana, you'll find that marijuana outweighs alcohol in the "positive benefits" and "less dangerous" sections of the study any day of the week.
