Unfortunately the Americans were abit too late for any of the actual fighting in WWI or WWII, the worst fighting took place in the first two years. They did however get in on time to get in on the glory that the allies (France, Australia, India, Canada, New Zealand etc) had earned. Landing on Omaha and Juno was the one thing they did, and before you say how brutal that was 'Saving Private Ryan' is grossly inaccurate. This stuff about America winning the war is bullshit.
