Is It Normal?
What do you think?
Senior Jitters?
I am a senior in high school as of this year. I am noticing that the closer it gets to graduation, the more petrified I am becoming. I've gone to school for pretty much my whole life, and it's like I can feel the world slowly creeping up on me from behind, and I don't know what I am going to do. I am going to college, but even the thought of being thrown into a whole new environment is rather frightening. Is this normal, and has anyone else felt this way in their senior year?

Starting highschool I was scared shitless. Everything turned out fine though. Starting college, scared shitless. Fine. Getting my first full-time job out of college, scared shitless, fine though. I'm middle-aged now and need to go back to school to upgrade my skills. Scared shitless. See a pattern? You'll be fine.
Totally Normal
More or less everyone i knew at high school was s**ting themselves when the time came to leave but I wasn't bothered cos i was sick of the place and wasn't making any moajor plans. Go with the flow. Theres things in life you just got to do and if ye sit there too long thinking about it, you'll mess your head up.

You slay me with the normal-ness of this post.

I remember one time when I was laying in my bed, thinking about the upcoming change in school and being suddenly struck by it and just being petrified. Actually, it happens a lot still. I was so tremdously afraid about going to the high school. Irrationally afraid. But before I knew I was well into the first term and things were going. I think it helps a lot to not let yourself forget that from right now it seems very different, but there is time between now and then and you'll be a different person, and the change will slowly happen without you realizing it and not all at once. It's just so damn hard to keep that in mind at the time.
Scary
I was scared about my new job soon after leaving college, but that was because i was going to be a copper :) hehehe no i get sh*t loads of abuse and stuff everyday - some of the stuff i've seen!!!! jeez!!! Just get stuck in mate - it seems scarey but there's really nothing to be scared of, just think about the money ;-)
by college do you mean a levels like 16 - 18 years old, or are you american and mean (what i call) university? either way, both are scary, both are great, and everyone else is scared too. jump in both feet first pal, both were great.
Its understandable, i suggest university its more challenging and helpful in the long run, you should think of these as amazing oppertunites to help yourself for the future!
yes, you will be fine. If you are intelligent and successful you should be good to go.
