my mates loves a guy whose getting married
so here goes!! my first post!
My friend who shall remain nameless is completely in love with a guy, she has been for 4years. He admitted he felt the same at one point and then broke to her the very next day he is engaged!! (WTF who does that!)
His side of the story is complicated! His family want him to marry this girl and adore her and he feels pressure and cant back out!
Personally I do not doubt he has feelings for my friend.
My friend on the other hand still keeps this notion that he will break off the engagement and come to her. All these guys are always checking her out but she wont have any of it. Its just this guy for her!

The amount of times I have told her not to keep her hopes up and move on she just refuses to! Please someone help me!! I think shes going to let a very nice guy just walk by her very soon because she wont get over this guy! (sorry if i sound insensitive but I really do care about her and want the best for her, shes always been there for me!)
Shes waited 4 years isn't it time to move on?

If she really cares for this one guy so much then she will do what is right for the both of them. She doesn't need to move on just because everyone else wants her to. It is purely her decision and there is nothing that you or anyone else for that matter, can do about it. I admire the way you care about this girl, but it is simply not your right to go and disturb someones happiness. I am sorry it had to turn out this way.

Either an arrogant asshole or a man who can't make his own choices.

Actually.....he can back out.
He just doesn't have the balls to stick up for himself.
It's not his family who is marrying this girl, it's him. If he really didn't want to marry her, he would stand up for himself, make his own life choices and break off the engagement.

The best thing for your friend to do would be to go find another man to share her affections because if this one isn't even man enough to do what HE wants with his life than what kind of boyfriend would he make anyways?
The best way to get over a guy is to find another one!

It's difficult sometimes for the person in the situation to see the situation for how it really is. Your friend may have love-blindness, but luckily she has a friend like you!
