Life is all about change.

The friends we make in high school rarely remain close in the years following high school, rather they tend to slowly drift apart from us. If you stay in touch with just one or two friends from high school years after graduating, that is more the exception than the norm.

People move on to different schools, meet new people, enter the workforce and meet many more people. The friendships you make in college will have a greater likelihood of lasting for years beyond college, but they too often fade over time.

Marriage and raising children also has a way of tearing us apart from the friends we used to enjoy in addition to the new responsibilities you will have down the road.

Consider high school as just a stepping stone, a transition period that inevitably ends as will likely all friendships from your current days.

Realize, when one door closes, a new one opens, usually withing a very short time of each other too. So, focus on academics, earn your degree and get out. It's normal for people to feel concerned about losing what they worked hard to develop and know they will be missing.

The first semester of college is often a very lonely time for students as they miss friends they've known for years and also many being away from home. That's just life.

don't do that, whenever you get out you can get other peoples numbers, and stuff. Maybe give them a call sometimes and hang out with them, you can always find new friends after finishes highschool, the ones that really matter will always be there with you.
