You should move on and look to make other friends. The strong feelings for someone at an early age (teen years) usually last between 4 to 12 months and then the feelings don't necessarily disappear but they do decline and tail off. In adults, the period of strong attraction can last several years but then they too tail off. After this time frame, relationships take considerable work, by both, to keep them strong and lasting.

Try not to invest to much emotion in any relationship and lower your expectations when you make friends. When someone says they "have too much going on for a relationship" that is another way of saying they simply do not want a relationship. You do not want to try to be friends with someone who does not reciprocate or show similar interest. Friendships are a two way street. Don't waste your time or energy in trying to change people. It does not work.

Look around and you will find someone who will make you happy. good luck
