Twilight Zone of the Midwest
Some folks may think Inidana is just one of those states you drive through or fly over, but, BOY, are they wrong. Visit this small college town, called Bloomington, just an hour southwest of Indy on SR37. I'm from Fort Wayne in Northeast Indiana. I visited Bloomington one day, and I wound up living there!!! It's like another world, an oasis... Bicycles fill the streets, Bloomingfoods sells vegetables and organic foods on every corner. Kirkwood Avenue changes so much, I think I'm in a new city every month. They have a six-foot fish weather vane on top of the Monroe County courthouse. People come from all over the world to visit and attend school at IU in B-town, so it never gets boring for a town its size. Once you visit Bloomington (B-town), you'll never be the same. I visited a friend there, and I ended up living there... How did it all happen??? It's a complete mystery to me. B-town is a pleasant, peaceful place to live, and the crime is really low. So if my residence in B-town is due to some mysterious, Midwestern Twilight Zone's gravitational pull on me, well that would be OK. Is this normal?
You seem like the sort of person that would really enjoy the laid-back liberal lifestyle of Bloomington, Indiana.
We have many nice things to see here in the Hossier State. Try Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN. See Indiana Beach on Lake Shafer in Monticello. We have Lake Michigan, Lake Monroe, and a whole plethora of natural beauty here. I think you'd really like the Midwest.
West sounds really nice. Next time I get to go on vacation, I'll visit Idaho.
Peyton Manning plays for the Indy Colts. Our governor is Mitch Daniels.
