I don't find the discovery channel to be all that good, seems mostly to be shows about building motorcycles and such (which can be informative if you want to be an engineer). A lot of people actually do watch educational telivision, I like the history channel, national geographic, and travel channel best.

I'm a 17 year old guy who does this too. I like to watch the History Channel and the National Geographic Channel but I like the Weather Channel the best (probably because I want to be a meteorologist). I may not be the most popular person in my school but I'm somewhere around the higher "middle class" so I think that this is normal.

Anyways, watching the discovery channel dosn't make you a loser. It just shows your mature and smart, even though thats not what most people would consider entertaining.

Didja see that one on National Geographic about the giant Japanese salamander? The thing was like five feet long and fifty pounds, and probably been around since way before the dinosaurs.

While I do enjoy Nat geo, I do have a love affair with the History Channel. Not the one thats always focused on Mega structures,but the one thats further up the digital dial. I enjoy the science channell too. What am I to say, I majored in Geo Science. One would call me a geek, but believe me I as far from a geek as you can get.It's normal you enjoy being enlightened.

Yes, absolutely normal for an intelligent person, it also shows you likely reject the garbage that infests television. The discovery channel has some terrific programs. You would be surprised how many young people out there tune in to it besides yourself. I'd guess you are not into American Idol then? I think it's the biggest piece of garbage on television yet for some reason one of the most popular. I'm with you!!!
