It always amazes me how people jump to one conclusion or another after having read a few sentences and pronounce one or another party bad, stupid or immature based on one side of a story. The kind of experience you are having is very normal, both for guys and girls at your age. It doesn't happen to everyone, but it happens to a lot of people. It is understandable that you are worried that your lack of sucess with boys is because of your looks, but that isn't the first thing I would suspect of being the problem. It is most likely your attitude. It is a terrible and ironic fact about human psychology that the more you feel like you need attention from others, particularly from the opposite sex, the less they think you are worth their time. This sense of neediness or desperation comes through in your actions and others can sense it. That probably doesn't help much when you really do need to feel like you are worth someone's interest. Except that it is possible sometimes to fool people temporarily by playing it cool, and not expressing your desire for attention so openly.
