my cousin!!!!!!!!!!!!

my little couisn was over he is like 4 years old me and my friend john were playing video games my cousin comes in my room and says hi uncle john and john is not his uncle there not related in any way and he always calls john his uncle he knows john is not his uncle is this normal for my cousin to call my friend his uncle? just wondering what you guys think

Yeah i dont see a problem with it hes to young to try and explain all the aunts and uncles stuff just let it go and when he gets a little older you can explain family stuff.And my question to you is why is he calling him uncle anyway kids don't just start doing that without some encouragement.

If hes a true friend of yours that you would trust with some of your most personal secrets then i say let the child think hes an uncle it cant hurt anything.And like i say when he gets older you can explain hes not really a true uncle, but close enough to it.

He may not even know exactly what an uncle is. Sometime just the word is one suggestive of endearment and trust and he just feels comfortable using it. He's so young, age 4, I would dismiss it although someone likely planted this seed in his head. However, if he starts calling people dad or mom who are not related to him, well then that's something that has to stop.
