ok im 17 i have been dating this guy for over 3 years and we are having sex i love him alot and we plan on getting married soon and having kids and all that jazz but heres the thing he is talking about joining the army and i dont want him to because i fell like hes going to go off and get killed and leave me at home to raise our children by myself i have tryed to think of way's to talk him out of it but all he keeps tell me is how many benefits the army prevides and i know all that but i just want to live my life w/ him and we raise our family together and i dont know how to deal w/ this situation!!!!!!

the only benefits really come if he does 20 years and retires with some rank.otherwise the pay is crappy for someone just starting out and the recruiters make it sound a whole lot more exciting than it really is plus youre right,some draft dodger like Bush can send him off to die in some craphole 3rd world country.

Hes rite the military would be a great place to get some eduction and good pay.I suggest you guys get married and let him do a couple of years of military service before you have any children.

Your too young for children rite now anyway you need to let him get a career established so you are financially cable of taking care of children before you have any it will save you a lot of bickering would be my guess.

As far as your worries about him getting killed while serving that's just a chance you take when people join the military.
