dislike my brother
i have never really liked my brother, nor respected him. everything about him just seems to irritate me, of course i love him as a brother, but just dont like him one bit, he is 28 and so immature, he is not independent at all and is still living at home. whenever he talks he just bores me to bits. not only am i constantly irritated by his personality, but i also find him physically repulsive to look at most of the time. i feel really guilty about my intense dislike for him because he is my brother, and part of my family. but i just cant help it, is this normal?

I think, from what I know, that your personalities are just not compatible. I have a sister who is the exact opposite of me and it takes a lot of tolerance and work to get along with her. I think it's ok to get angry at him and even dislike him (we all dislike our family members sometimes), but it's important that when he needs you, you put your differences aside and be here for him. There will definitely be a time in your life when you no longer have parents, but there is a chance you can have a sibling forever, and it's important that you try to stay close and try to get along because you might need him someday. Guilt doesn't do anyone any good. You can't control how you feel about him. You can, however, control are your actions.

I know what that's like. My brother is evil, he has tried to ruin my life from the minute I was born. I used to believe that because someone is your sibling you have to love them, but what if they do not leave you alone and are always harrasing you?

hahaha i can relate to this story im 22 an my brothers 28 he can be a twat but i sort of like him sometimes. My brothers is also very immature and winds the whoile family up im alot more mature than him and im 6 years younger. my parents want him out but hes still hasnt gone and only pays 20 pound a week in rent doesnt even pay for his phone calls hes never lived away from home either he's got it to cushty
