Poster you are completely right, rape isn't funny.

I have a friend who was jogging early in the morning and was brutally gang raped. The men were convicted. They planned the whole thing, which was the really fucked up part.

They went to jail, but she still suffered. To this day she is suffering. She can't go places alone, she has a hard time talking to strangers and is very lonely now. I used to be very very close to her but she pushed me away, which isn't her fault.

It just amazes me how these men had the power to take away something from her so great, that she turned from an outgoing socialite to a scared, and (hate to say it) pathetic woman.

I am just curious of how this act of sexual violence can completely destroy someone from the inside out.

she's lost her dignity(if she was a virigin), and it sickens them, they get afraid if it might happen again, they feel insecure, they feel as if they have no control, they get depressed, they lose trust, they hate themselves for what has happened, you can never say or tell them you know how they feel unless the same thing has happend to you.
