It wasn't until my Junior year that I really had a tight group of friends that actually arranged things outside of school. Try getting into a sport or activity. You will meet people with similar interests. Look at the people around you, carefully decide who you want to be friends with, and then choose them. Talk to them when you have the chance, and show interest in them. Find out what they do after school. Most people are open to making new friends and wont reject you. If they do, well, then they wouldn't have made a very good friend anyways, so move on. Be patient, true friendship takes years to develop. Here's a hint.. often the most popular people are also the lonliest. They have a huge group of other "popular" people but not many true friends.
