Original poster, I completely agree with you. I think that if enough people can figure out that gun control laws need to be more strict, then mindless bloodshed such as this can be prevented.

I think your idea of banning guns in the United States is ludicrous.You want to take away or right to bare arms?why we dont just turn America into a communist state then we can ask the government if we can wipe our ass.

Throughout history these types of incidents happen with firearms.Somebody blows a gasket and gos on a shooting spree its just life.I believe we should have better gun control laws and more through background checks on people purchasing firearms.This will take care of a lot of these types of problems.

If you ban firearms from the general public only the criminals will have guns.I personally am prepared to handle some gun toting criminal that wants to rob and kill me and my family.The thing that is disturbing with this incident is it was an off duty police officer.I think this just furthers my resolve to carry guns for me and my family's protection.

Sure the right to bear arms is one of our fundamental rights stated in the United States constitution but sadly people are abusing their rights.

We need better guns laws not on a state level but on a federal level.

As I mentioned with posts earlier in other similar posts I don't support a complete ban on guns but we must establish tighter laws on gun control.

The right to bear arms was a right developed during a time when there wasn't a proper policing force in the newly developed republic and the fear of a British invasion to reclaim the colonies.

Also correct, but this topic is about gun violence perpetrated by U.S. citizens.

VT, Columbine, the Salt Lake City shooting earlier this year, and others probably wouldn't have happened if Americans weren't so caught up with the "right to bear arms". Allowing anyone over 18 with no recorded criminal record to own and carry a weapon is stupid. They could be mentally disturbed. They could be depressed. They could kill others. They could commit suicide. Considering how easy it is to conceal a pistol these days, anyone could just walk into a school or shopping mall with a loaded gun and kill at least 10 people.

OK so you want better gun control,maybe people should be psychologically evaluated before they buy a gun,that might help.Irregardless you will always have crazy people who will get access to a gun,the nuthouses aren't big enough for all the psychos out there.
