Marriage has and always will be, an economic or political mechanism. Give me one good reason why 2 people (or in this case, living beings) should get married. Why can't you just be together and be happy?

Throughout the course of history, arranged marriages have occurred so that the groom's family can get a nice fat dowry, or political power if either family has a position in state. Marriage in this case is a contract much like any other business contract. This is business, not love.

When you wed for love, does any of this matter? Money, power? What could you possibly gain in your love for one another with a piece of paper that says you're legally bound and responsible for one another? If it's a matter of trust, if you don't trust this person why are you with them in the first place?

If you're happy being with someone or something, then just enjoy that time together.

I have a three year old parrot, his name is Wally. I love Wally, and Wally loves me. We want to spend the rest of our live's together. I don't understand why I can't marry wally, it's who I love. Is that so wrong?

I mean we should all be able to marry the ones we love, it's about time people vote from the heart, and allows anyone to marry anyone or anything. I want to marry Wally, it's not sexual, it's an emotional bond.

My uncle Jimmy lives with, Harry, Samantha, and Leslie. Uncle Jimmy loves all of them, he's bisexual and spends time with Harry alone, and then time with Samantha, and Leslie. I want someone to give me a reason why these four can't be happily married, they love each other, are willing to commit to one another, so why can't they all get married? Why?

Steve and Stan live two houses down, they love each other too, and want to get married. They have been trying to adopt a baby to raise, but keep getting passed by, and the babies are going to heterosexual couples. It's so unfair, there is no difference, between them and a married man and woman, and if they could get married they'd both have the same rights to adopt, which they deserve. Who say's a man and a woman can raise a baby better than two men or two woman? Fucking assholes in those red states.

And my poor good friends, ellen, Jane and pauline. Ellen works and takes care of Jane and Pauline, who are stay at home artists. The three are so totally in love with one another, why can't they get married, huh? tell me?

It's those evil red stater's, damn them and their values. Just because marriage in the west has been between a man and a woman for two centuries, doesn't mean it can't change, they're all a bunch of homophobes.

Poor rickya, she's told me about her dog Barney. She loves Barney, and with a little peanut butter, and whipped cream, fulfills all of rickya's needs, they just want to spend a life together, is that so wrong? You go girlfriend.

I'm looking at wally right now, he's so beautiful, damn those fucking conservative bastards to hell.
