You sound a bit like the male version of me when I was in high school - AND in college, come to think of it.

I always found it easier to meet young men if we were involved in the same interests. I was a violinist in my school orchestras, so I had something in common with other musicians. In fact, almost everyone I dated in high school and college was involved in music in some manner.

If there are any clubs or other extracurricular activities that interest you, you might try joining one to see if you find any young women who interest you. Your mutual interest takes a little of the awkwardness out of getting a conversation started, at least.

Other than that, I suggest you work on your sense of humor. If you're struggling for an opening line, making a girl laugh (not AT you, of course) is always good. At least from this old broad's point of view, a good sense of humor is at the top of my list of appealing qualities in a man.

I have the same problem, and there are girls i like and what not, but i always find my self getting to the point where were really good friends and they just wouldn't go out with me(AVOID THIS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE!). One of these days im going to stop caring and just talk to every girl i find interest in, but until then ill wait.

it's a numbers game... you'll hear the word "no" many many many times just to hear the word "yes" from one girl and that "yes" is all that matters!

The more girls you talk to the easier it will get. Don't give up though even if it is painful or awkward at first. Sooner or later you'll get the hang of it but not if you don't try.

When the one says yes it will have been worth it.
