I always found it easier to meet young men if we were involved in the same interests. I was a violinist in my school orchestras, so I had something in common with other musicians. In fact, almost everyone I dated in high school and college was involved in music in some manner. If there are any clubs or other extracurricular activities that interest you, you might try joining one to see if you find any young women who interest you. Your mutual interest takes a little of the awkwardness out of getting a conversation started, at least. Other than that, I suggest you work on your sense of humor. If you're struggling for an opening line, making a girl laugh (not AT you, of course) is always good.
