I love christmas!! Its a time when i get to see all of my family members at the same time! I dont understand how anyone could hate it. If you are such a cheap ass then buy cheap presents!! duh

a-invited to by family (but just on the 25th)
b-required by employment (at any time)
or c-on dec,24 and its the one all your friends just wont let you miss.

most people are polite once they know you dont believe since its such a "happy" tim of year and as long as you dont act like a sorry loser at the 3 mandatory holiday functions you'll only have to put up with the x-mas blahs for 3 days per year. just dont expect gifts.

I can relate to everything you listed and so you are completely normal to me. I too dislike the holidays and it is a sad time for many. In fact, during the winter holidays, the death rate soars, I think three times what it is the rest of the year. Just open a newspaper around Christmas time and you will see the obituary pages increase 3-4 times. I feel relieved once New Years passes, so join the club, you are not alone.

The romans had a pagan ritual called Saturnalia which was the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. One of the popes tried to weaken the pagan ritual by pinning the birth of Jesus on that day. Many shops admit they do 80% of their business in the pre-Xmas madness. It is bullshit. Jesus is not.

i do not hate chritsmas, for me is time of make regards of others times and places, and time to give thanks to God( is the only one day o go to church during the year)for all thati have and i be, and all that He gave me in the past years and i do not deserve, but He gave it to me.-
Do not spent to mouch money, buy one bottle of red wine and something for dinne, chocolates and crytalized fruits, nuts and grapes, thats all.-And go to bed at 11:00 after listen some music.-

IN my early years , my family was poor, and my father has a ford 4 cylinder, he was mechanic and always was in good function, and we use go to bed in the 24 asking to the Holy Child go to the town of our grand father.It was great arrive there after 4 hours sitted in the car my 7 brothers and i, in the 25 of each december, because there was honey water of cane,(aguamiel de caņa) hot swett , pie on sweet, corn grilled and the must better we mont donkys, , but we do not receive presents of critsmas , but those was a very happy times there, and all aunts and aunties and cousins was very well received in the house of my grand father, all family(52 some day) we see each others with great affect.-

Christmas is a big anticlimax for me. I spend half of December thinking "gee this is going to be the best christmas ever" then the big day finally comes and it's no more special or exciting than any other day. It has no religious value to me, so it's basically an excuse to eat, drink and buy myself expensive stuff, which I can do any time of year.

It's one of those things you only really enjoy as a kid. I knew I wasn't a kid anymore when Christmas came and I stayed in bed till the afternoon.
