Time on my own

Is it normal for me to want time on my own? I get home from work and the missus and kids just follow me everywhere i go. Im in the lounge- theyre in the lounge, Im in my room- theyre in my room, you get the picture. Sometimes i take 45 minute sh*ts just to get some peace. Ive tried letting the missus know how i feel about this but she just gets offended and upset. She tells me i get all day at work on my own, but you cant really call that relaxing time, can you. I dont expect to come home and lock myself away and never see them. Just an hour or so each day to draw, write or read on my own is all i ask. Am i being unreasonable? Is this normal?

There is a cure for that. It's called divorce and joint custody. I recommend it highly. It's the only thing that stands between me and complete insanity.

no,dont get a divorce lol.i mean yea it might work for some people.i hope if i ever do get married that i never have to go through a divorce.i need to find someone who is like me in some ways,but not everything.i need someone who likes to unwind after work,and relax.I'm a single mom and i have a 2 yr old,the only time i have for myself is when my kid goes to sleep.If i were you i'd spend time with the family after you got off work,and when they go to sleep,tell your wife you want some alone time,but split the chores too,or else it will get old for her.maybe your wife needs some alone time too.i also suggest you just learn how to get less sleep like me,i only get 5-6 hours of sleep and i'm fine.sleep in on a saturday or something.

well,i have a partner lets call him darren!!! He wants time on his own 2.Have u ever thought about ur missus?She,s at home alone all day then at home alone with the kids.i personally try to stay out of my blokes way such as i let him fall asleep on the sofa whilst i deal with the kids and cook dinner and i try and amuse kids as much as poss to keep them away from him.i also go to sleep very early so he can ave time alone.i love my man very much and do wana spend every second with him.but also understand that he needs his space....maybe its the way u mentioned it that pissed ur misses .maybe wen you do see her let her no that u appreciate her and love her and make a huge fuss of her wen u get home from work then xplain that u r goin to sit in bedroom for hour and read etc...sure she wont mind.i only get pissed off wen i think my bloke is goin away to chat up girls on facebook!!!i mean who wud b happy wit a man who wud rather spend time chattin to other women than with his own family.im also pregnant and very clingy at mo which doesnt help. good luck with future.x

No you are not being unreasonable. Part of the problem in pop culture is that parents get delight out of being with their families all the time and if they want time to themselves they are being selfish.

1 hour is perfectly reasonable.
